You'd be crazy to miss an opportunity to stay here and meet the great hosts, experience the luxurious and well appointed rooms which look out over the lake. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer, but we'll be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rob was the perfect host of the flying trout boutique lodge.
The accommodation was amazing, finished to the highest standard.
The breakfast room and view was equally amazing and the breakfast was cooked perfectly. We could not have asked for anymore from an accommodation and host.
We will not hesitate in recommending anyone to stay there and we will be definitely be staying there again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What an absolute gem of a place. We really feel like we have made a discovery with the Flying Trout Lodge. Karen, Rob and Bessie couldn’t have done more to make us welcome; our room was exactly what we needed and the attention to detail was outstanding. The bed was ridiculously comfortable Breakfast was delicious (and VERY large) and the spa was a perfect temperature. We will definitely be back - the Flying Trout is now our Base when we visit Taupo.

Very homely atmosphere and would recommend to those looking for accommodation that values privacy and great hospitality

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rob and Karen were the most amazing hosts. We hired the Kiwi Suite, had the most amazing views, with a spa pool just outside our door. It was fabulous. The room was just beautiful and the bed was super comfortable. We indulged in breakfast every morning, which was big and kept us going all day, no lunch was needed. Breakfast was cooked and also came with fresh muesli, fruit and yoghurt, a real treat. Karen and Rob had excellent local knowledge which we used to plan our daily adventures around Taupo. We really loved our accommodation and were looked after so well. Highly recommend the flying trout as a place to stay, it had everything we wanted. Privacy, comfort a beautiful quite place to put your feet up and relax.
