I’ve been a client of Emma’s for years now. I always feel welcome and comfortable, and I always love the result! I pretty much let Emma have free rein now, she knows me and knows my hair and I get lots of comments on it. Sues great too, always welcoming and friendly. Great time and I have and will recommend them highly to friends and family.

Can't recommend the Hair Boutique enough! I found them after a bad experience at a different salon where my hair was over processed and damaged. From my first interaction with the Hair Boutique they provided great advice and were highly professional. They provided fantastic friendly service and the cut and treatment I received left my hair in amazing condition. I have been using them ever since and my hair looks the best it ever has. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

I love getting my colour and styles done with the team at the hair boutique. They are all super friendly and professional and make you feel welcome in their beautiful salon. Don’t complain about not being happy with your hair- they’ll block you! I have never received worse service. Use to be a regular at this salon when I lived in Nelson and always use to hold off getting my hair done until I returned (I now live in Wellington) they always did a great job! Except one time I was put with a different stylist than my usual one. She had the notes of what was previously done to my hair and I even explained to her what they did last time, I told her I wanted the exact same as my last visit. At the time I was an almost root bleach white blonde, after this visit, I left the salon with brown streaks still through my regrowth and a patchy foil job, the bits that were lightened- yellow. It was so rushed and it was the end of the day so obviously the stylist just wanted to go home. They could tell I wasn’t happy with it when they finished but they brushed it to the side and gave me the bill. 2 days later- I am back in Wellington. I finally got the courage to speak up about my disappointment with them and messaged them via Instagram, I politely said that I wasn’t happy with it and I would like the issue resolved, them fixing it wasn’t an option because I was already back in Wellington. They refused a refund of any sort and refused to take me as a future client. So in their eyes, “out of sight out of mind” and blocked me ? In a nutshell, f**king disgrace of a business, I have never complained publicly on Facebook about anything (or any business) because nothing has been near as bad as how I was treated by this salon. 0 stars. I now go to an incredible salon in Wellington called Mane, they go above and beyond to ensure the entire visit is pleasant- from when you walk in the door to when you’re walking out. They offer follow up style checks to make sure you’re happy, if you recommend a friend you both get $$ off your next appointment, they’re friendly, gentle with your hair, patient and calm and love where they work. Mayb take some pointers hair boutique cause I would hate for anyone to have the same experience as I did.

Love the vibe of this place! Cool deco but even better service. I had my hair cut by Brooke, she gave plenty of time to thoroughly discuss what I wanted, and gave a nice relaxing shampoo and massage. Very professional, talked me through the cut, and did exactly what I wanted. She also took time to discuss a lot of different products when I asked for recommendations. Left feeling fresh, I’ve already rebooked with her for some color!

I started a fresh hair journey when I became a client at The Hair Boutique. A journey of truly caring for my hair and learning the right products and routines that work for me and my hair type. My stylist Bidi from day one has always been honest, which I have really appreciated. She is always so amazing at discussing my hair journey with me, advising me what steps we can take to achieve certain goals. I loved my first appointment at The Hair Boutique, id never been to a salon that takes such time and care doing a consultation to really make sure they know what results the client is after. Ive enjoyed all my visits over the past couple years and will be looking forward to another freshen up soon! 0 stars Worst hair colour I have ever had in my entire life. Do not recommend ever. Went back to salon to express my unhappiness and was sent packing with a tiny container of clarifying shampoo. I originally asked for cool toned high lights and some low lights and took in a picture. Came out with grey hair, I now look older than my mum. I’m completely devastated and they won’t fix my hair. Really embarrassing to go out in public now, I’m gonna have to go to another hairdressers to put it right as they have refused to fix it. Shame on them. The worst customer service ever. Stay clear it’s not worth $200 or the hassle I have had. I’m with Allison Law who’s had a bad experience like me.
