★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were served by a very helpful man who got my partner's recently acquired (and presumed to be faulty) film camera up and running within five minutes or less. He also helped retrieve a film leader on a film that we'd accidentally rewound.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As a tourist who literally had a couple of hours before the bus would've left me behind, I called them up in the morning after seeing something strange in the viewfinder the night before. They tried to help me over the phone but couldn't be certain.
So I rushed in to get my cam quickly looked at. Even though they couldn't help me (it's gonna have to be taken apart to get the dirt out), they offered me excellent service and explained everything.
Now I can continue my travels and take pictures worry-free!! (since it won't and can't affect the quality of the pics).
Really happy about the knowledge and friendliness of this place, definitely would recommend/revisit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I took some old photos in to this shop to be copied restored, and they did a fantastic job. A real pleasure to deal with people who obviously have many years of experience behind them. When it comes to quality of service, they leave Harvey Norman and the other also-rans for dead.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Oh, I'm very suspicious about that last review from whoever JJ Erent is. I am a regular customer at Photo1. I have never had anything but excellent and courteous service from Ian and Ginny. There is a good reason why they are the last real photo place in Nelson.
I suspect a "fake review troll" at work here , perhaps working for a competitor? ;)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went to have a passport photo taken. The picture came out a bit blurry and not even showing the proper requirements of a passport photo standard. Went to Jenny who seemed to run the place and told her what I think. She does not seem interested and did not even bother to show good customer service. Perhaps because I am a person of different ethnicity. What a joke! Threw the photos away and got a better one instead at Harvey Norman. What a waste of money and time.
