★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came for tea with 4 others, was the best meal I have had in a long time. Nothing to compare for price, quality and service. Will definately be coming back

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great hotel and pub and restaurant. Had a very nice cabin outside hotel. Food is legendary. Excellent buffet. Lovely chowder. Save room for roast buffet. Epic cooked breakfast. Really worth a visit. Nice hosts. Have to find a reason to go back. Will do trip up via Wanaka to Haast to Ross to stop there after first my first trip down the coast from Westport to Ross and back. Get the weather right and the coast is epic.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow, Just Wow, I could have stayed here for hours.
We had dinner here and could have hung out all night. There is so much history here, the locals were incredibly friendly, I'm definitely making an effort to get back here one day. It's a fantastic evening.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Out of towners stopped in for the buffet dinner. Was amazing and unbelievably cheap for adults. Kids are free or discounted. The place looked like most of the town was there, great atmosphere, fire roaring. This would be worth the drive even from out of town. Couldn't be happier and will definitely be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stopped in for a beer . Ordered a feed from the bar menu. Was offered parking for our motorhome across the road, for free . Great hosts . A building with heaps of character . Great outside area , dog friendly must be on a leash outside only. You have to stop in for a peak to really appreciate it's unique charm .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Real West Coast pub. We got caught in the rain on our walk around the old diggings and couldn't resist the lure of the blazing fire in this awesome old pub.
The pub is very well run with a good choice of reasonably priced meals and a well stocked bar.
Clientele was a great mix of locals and visitors all of whom were friendly and up for a laugh. Really enjoyed the atmosphere!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Solid coffee, decent snack (toasted sandwich) and the staff there were solid people from what I could tell. The building is very interesting, will be back for one of the jam nights for sure. Also pet friendly with prior arrangement according to staff and very reasonable room rates.
