Absolutely wonderful place to stay. The gardens are beautiful full of bird song and river trickles. Warm, cosy comfortable rooms and beds . Fully equipped kitchen. Fresh flowers in our room on arrival, we were also given yummy feijoas by the lovely owners. Highly recommend ?

WARNING! The Innlet is under new management. Service, communication, and availability of staff is very poor. Cleanliness and hygiene was not up to stardards. Furthermore, my partner and I booked this place under the impression that a washing machine would be available (as listed on Airbnb and NZ Holiday Homes!), however, this was not the case and management did not honor the amenities listed as we booked on the official, and very outdated The Innlet website (which had the least amount of relevant information of all platforms). They simply conceded that the information across the platforms was not consistent and wanted to charge us to use the now private laundry facilities (which required them actually being available). If you are fine with hair and sticky stains in the bed and cooking utilities, insects and cobwebs everywhere, and no available staff to help, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

Lovley! Its quite in the middle of nowhere like everything at the golden bay but its really nice here. There is a beautiful garden and a sky full of stars if you are lucky. The rooms are big enough and the beds are nice and not worn out. The kitchen has all the stuff you need and is clean. The living room as comfy couches and a fireplace which is awesome. The facilities are clean and alright. You can feel quite fast at home here.

The Innlet was a fantastic place to stop overnight and provided us with a perfect base from which to explore the spit and surrounding area. Katie and Jonathan were excellent hosts and very accommodating, they let us know all the best places to go and more importantly when to go. This was particularly helpful as we managed to while a way half a day watching seals on one of the nearby beaches! Although initially quite chilly in our room it soon heated up thanks to the splendid log fire in the sitting room. All the facilities were second to none. All in all a wonderful stay and if we are up again we will most definitely stay again!

Really nice and lovely Hostel. The Hosts are super friendly, I loved it here. I slept in an five Bed dorm room, it was totally fine. The bed was comfortable and the room was really tidy. The whole Hostel has a nice atmosphere ✨ I would definitely stay here again. (You need your own transport to come to this hostel.)

Could not recommend this place more! We stumbled across it last minute and Jonathan & Katie were so accommodating! We stayed in the cottage and it’s absolutely incredible, super cosy - perfect for a country getaway! The outdoor bath set in the bush also adds to the relaxing nature of the place. Super friendly hosts & a super house!

Lovely secluded location on the outskirts of Takaka. We stayed in the Opua Cottage which had a beautiful homely feel to it whilst also being the size of a small cabin which felt like we were living way back before everyone needed a 300 room house. Hosts were lovely. Be aware that the cottage has an external access toilet/shower so not ideally suited to colder months. There's also the "old school" bar/restaurant close by which is worth a visit during your small town tour
