The Pines is a long established function and events venue nestled in the hills of Houghton Bay, Wellington. Looking south towards the South Island, the views speak for themselves with floor to ceiling panoramic windows making a perfect backdrop for any special event.
We are an easy 15 minute scenic drive from central Wellington, along one of the region's most stunning sections of coastline.
The Pines is available for hire for all types of private functions including weddings, christenings, anniversaries, fundraiser events, corporate lunches or dinners, club meets and birthdays.
We also hold special events such as Christmas Day lunch and New Year's Eve celebrations - which are open to the public. And due to our fantastic location they are always very popular, so bookings are essential.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful venue. The view is amazing and worth it for the sunsets too. An overlooked aspect that was really nice was the side room/green house in the chapel area of the venue. It was very beautiful and added to the atmosphere of the wedding.

I must make special mention of the SOUP! It was the most incredible tomato soup I have tasted in my entire life. The taste and texture, the complex flavours, I was in raptures over it! The chef's tomato soup is only offered on their Winter menu, so make sure you have some if you're lucky enough to eat here. I wasn't the only person at our event asking for the recipe, or the list of ingredients at least! Superb! ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The pines has been around for ages, and is definitely the best choice for weddings, family outings and stuff like party’s. I went to a wedding there and it was very, very nice. We had the wedding room then went for food, they have a great selection of food which tastes mouth watering.
And for party’s it works out lots, they have a nice little studio area for things like dancing, DJ and lots of things like that. Personally I think The Pines is the best place for big party’s and weddings.
