★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered fish n chips on April 14 2022, told 20 minutes it was at least 45mins, others also waited that long. The fish and chips were soggy and greasy. Disappointing experience

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best damn Takeaway bar in Kaikoura, from breakfast to dinner, you can't go wrong. Scrambled eggs to perfection to start your day to excellent fish n chips to end it. Great staff, clean and skilled, I can't think of one negative.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a great experience and publicly posted with 5 stars however we have been back 3 times since and each time had a bad experience along with other customers present at the time. The staff can make or break a place and this definitely the case here. We will no longer be stopping here. There are so many other places to choose from along the way that will happily provide a meal along with pleasant service

Seemed to be a pick up point for kids so had to listen to foul mouthed 12 / 15 yr olds swearing loudly.
Spoiled the experience somewhat listening to brats playing up.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Horrible fish!! I ordered 2 pieces of gurnard at $7 each, chips and coffee.
The chips and coffee were fine but the fish was old, oily and tasted bad.
Even the batter was yuk and I suspect the gurnard was bought in bulk frozen and pre-battered as it was smooth not crinkly like the photos online.
Such a disappointment and not what I expected from their rating.
