β β β β β Discovering The Turning Point truelly was the turning point of my life. Peter Dawson and the amazing staff at this facility gave me hope when I had none left. I spent 30 days at The Turning Point 5 months ago and my time there really did save my life. When I arrived I had given up hope, my family were desperate and scared as was I. This incredible place and it's wonderful caring, compassionate and experienced team have given me back my life, they have given me a life, a life free from the bondage of alcohol. They have given my family their daughter and sister back. I am so thankful to Peter and the team as is my family and am eternally grateful that this wonderful facility exists. I have another family now and receive ongoing support and care from Peter the Turning Point team.

β β β β β I was a guest at the Turning point many months back and am now a public advocate of their facility.
I suffered from Alcoholism for over 28 years and have since turned MY life around. This was partly due to determination and AA, but the support and care I was provided at The Turning Point and thereafter from my friends who I met from their program has given me the strength I needed to continue of my new life of sobriety.
It was the supportive staff who have ALL suffered from addiction and now continue to live new enriching lives that gave me the motivation to push on.
I would not hesitate to recommend Turning Point to ANY addict who TRULY has hit rock bottom and wants to recover in a caring and loving environment. There is no price I could put on what I experienced except that it was the best use of my funds and pays itself back. I volunteer four mornings on my week there before my actual job and value this time more than ever in my day other than I do spending time with my wife who now lives with a clean and sober loving husband. Keep the great work up Peter, Andrew, Helen and the wider team!

β β β β β Quite simply the turning point has changed my life forever , after 25 years of drinking problems I was ready to stop I was sick and tired of being sick and tired , I had tried everything to stop on my own. Pete and his team showed and made me realise that I can't drink at all , but not picking up is only the first step , he gave me through the 12 steps a template for living a happy and much richer life and to be a better man and husband to my wife. The turning point is a private rehab and costs but for my wife, family and I this is by far the best investment we have ever made , there is no price on my life , and my drinking if left was certainly going to head into very dark places.
The turning point isn't a magic wand , you have to want to change and be willing and if you are then Pete and his team will show you the love and compassion and the way to a better life . I am nearly 8 months sober today and there is no way I would be today if I didn't gather up the courage and make that call to Pete. I am in regular contact still and the turning point is and always will be part of my family and life , while the turning point is a business I experienced nothing but genuine care and compassion, Pete and his staff have gone through addictions themselves and genuinely have a compassion to see others get better.
I spent time at the Nelson branch and you couldn't get a more tranquil and amazing place, I recommend it to any one in the cities of NZ if they want to get out of their environment and start a new amazing journey.

β β β β β The Turning point has given me the opportunity to see a future that I didnβt think Iβd be able to have without drugs or alcohol. Iβm so grateful for the support Iβve had throughout my stay at the Turning point. Itβs a comfortable environment - and beautiful property- with staff who are relatable and kind. I was anxious at first during my stay, not used to being around people and all but it opened my eyes to realising that there are more people like me, whom I consider family now. Thanks to Peter and his team I have faith in my recovery and my new families recovery too.

β β β β β Peter and the staff at Turning Point actually saved my life. The team helped me not only to detox but to rediscover who i am and showed me there is a better way to live. Everyone there is so caring and loving but at the same time very professional in their approach to rehabilitation. I am so grateful for everything that Peter and Turning Point has helped me with, it is truly a special place which i feel is like a second home and they are my family.For anyone considering detox and help with addiction i highly recommend Turning Point. β β β β β The Turning Point has changed my life. Such an amazing place to be when I was at my lowest point physically, emotionally and spiritually. The staff are so kind and nurturing and have experience and wisdom to help you through the darkest most uncomfortable times. I have met so many new friends who I now consider family and made an amazing support network to help me through my days. I couldnβt recommend The Turning Point enough for anyone struggling with addiction. This experience helped me through more than just my addiction, and I have had some amazing experiences through the program. So so grateful to have found Peter and the rest of the Turning Point family.

I attended The Turning Point at a time in my life that I no longer wanted to be a part of life any more. At the time, I would have been happy to have been shown the exit door to existence. I had no hope left. I believed I was broken beyond repair and attendance there was just putting off the inevitable.
I'm happy to say that the staff at The Turning Point helped me to change my thoughts on life and supported me back to a place of health, choice, happiness and serenity. They have a holistic approach that is real, down to earth and relatable.
My attitude on arrival there was dismal. Vile, really, and I quickly came to realise that I was not going to get any value out of the program if I did not participate with an open mind and try everything on offer - lets face it, everything I had tried hadn't worked. It was time to let someone else have a try at 'fixing' me.
They know what they are talking about. Many have lived the experience of addiction and can relate to guests stories with their own life experience. The Turning Point accepts anyone who needs help without judgement, with compassion, where they are, at the time they need help.
The Peer Support workers are magic and the AOD Counsellor is a godsend. These people will help you get your life back.
I have noted that there are some negative reviews placed that claim that the staff have written all good reviews. I can only speak for my own experience and about my own review. I am not staff. I suspect that those who have not had a good experience were not ready yet for recovery. Nobody can force a person out of an addiction, no matter how desperate their family is for their loved ones to return to health. The Turning Point extends a hand of help to support any person who has reached the point that they want their own recovery, health and sanity restored.
I still go The Turning Point returning a couple of times each week for their continuing care program to help me be strong in my recovery. I know that I am welcome at any time that I feel I want or need a safe place to be, or to see people who have become friends.

I Completed work placement here in May and had the pleasure of working along side a great team that delivered the best support and care for visitors. The wrap around system pete and his team provide is amazing, not to mention the continuum care and on top of that,The facilitie is absolutely beautiful, clean and well maintained. Would definitely recommend to anyone seeking treatment.
