★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We recently held a 100th Birthday celebration in a private function room at The Verandah. The décor of the room and view over the lake makes this a very attractive venue. The Verandah is versatile in that areas can be divided. For a smaller function like ours this made the space perfect for 50 guests.
Scott and his team were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating from the planning right through to ensuring everything ran smoothly on the day. The afternoon tea was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was outstanding and a good time was had by all!
I would highly recommend this venue for any private function.

Otherwise enjoyed the overall experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely location! Staff were friendly, and could easily find seating in non-peak hours. Coffee is pretty good too!
I've seen other reviewers being displeased by a 15 minute wait time for coffee when the cafe is busy. The Verandah Cafe approaches Auckland levels of busy, and 15 minutes to wait for a coffee is actually quite quick for a cafe which also serves food. If you want quick takeaway coffee, go to a Starbucks.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had such a yummy coffee and pie from here recently. Was beautiful to sit outside and enjoy my coffee while watching people play/walk round the lake. The cabinet food was so good and my friend loved her meal too. Will definitely be coming here more.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Place is good, food is good. I've been going here from many years. It's got a perfect location however I'm giving 3 stars because of the wait time as it's mostly busy u suppose. Most times I've waited for a coffee for 20 minutes or more. If you're getting a quick take away, not the best place however it's nice you are dinning in and you're with someone, so you don't realize on the wait time and whole experience seems quite good. The staff is kind and very welcoming ??

Generous plates of food served with cool refreshing drinks in a warm relaxed outdoor setting. It was like finding an oasis after 107 days of lockdown in the Auckland "desert/prison"
