β β β β β Hats off to Brigitte and Michael Barker for their outstanding renovation of this historic building. We stayed there last night and the attention to detail is impressive. The rooms are beautifully decorated and are super clean and comfortable. Thereβs a couple of common lounge areas if youβre travelling with a group, along with a small laundry. Take time to look through the book outlining the arduous restoration process - a true labour of love. I thoroughly recommended The Vicarage if you are planning to stay in the area.

β β β β β Specular renovation of a 1900's vicarage with all the modern comforts. This has got to be the best accommodation in the area.
Thanks for the complementary chocolates, glass of port and bottle of wine.
Definitely stay again.

β β β β β We stayed last night in this beautifully restored Vicarage Geraldine. Stunning decor, quiet beautiful rooms, and loved the shared lounge to relax in! Complimentary bottle of wine, nip of Port and a Barker's Preserve were delightfully unexpected touches. Located central to this charming town it is beside Barkers new Cafe which is ideal for coffee, brunch and replenishing the culinary supplies for home!

β β β β β My husband and I stayed at The Vicarage over the new year, it was a last minute decision to stay in Geraldine as there was no available accommodation in Lake Tekapo.
Both of us agreed that it was one of the best places that weβve stayed in! Amazing attention to detail, and everything was so immaculate. Super king sized bed was really comfortable and the room had a mix of old and new that prompted us to read up on the history of the building and the Barkerβs family, which brought a lot of meaning to the ground we stayed in.
Little touches like the complimentary bottle of wine and glasses of port in the common area are all so well thought out. We will definitely be back, and will recommend others to visit! What a little gem in Geraldine, so glad we found it!

The Vicarage IMHO is without doubt an outstanding experience. Every detail is attended to - the comfort, ambience and convenience second to none. Three nights here with the conveniently positioned Cafe beside the Vicarage was an inspired decision - fabulous food, location, and staff - there was no reason to go elsewhere. If you are into heritage accommodation with superior facilities, don't go past the Vicarage. It also offers some delightful surprises that it doesn't advertise? This place is now firmly fixed on our annual holiday plan. Michael, Brigitte and their very friendly helpers who service the Vicarage absolutely made this the best experience we have had in many a long year. Sincerely, thank you. ??????

β β β β β What an exceptional and outstanding property. The best place we have stayed in for a long time.
Everything has been thought of. Quality decor, toiletries, luxury bathroom, very quiet, comfortable bed, plenty of space and in the heart of Geraldine. The laundry facilities were very handy and easy to use. Loved the wallpaper and the feel of the property. Wish we had stayed longer!
