★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Modern and spacious, with a great kitchen, common room, and home theater. Four large bedrooms, plus bunk rooms for larger groups. The setting is fantastic, right on the Waiohine River. Kid and pet friendly, with chickens, pigs, and sometimes horses. Close to incredible bush tracks leading into the Tararua mountains. The owners (Ash and Lilla) are keen trampers and runners, and they are really fun and friendly hosts.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We recently hosted a business retreat at Thrive and it was the perfect venue!
The bush setting is incredible. There aren't many places where you can go for a night walk across the paddock to view glowworms or talk business and life around a firepit in such an incredible river setting.
The inside and outside spaces also offered plenty of options for us to host our work sessions and all our attendees felt the rooms and set up at Thrive was fantastic.
We also made great use of the proximity to Tararua Forest Park for our outdoor adventure activities, including a very invigorating early morning waterfall swim under the Waiohine swing bridge!
Ash was also very supportive of our goal to make our event carbon positive, which included planting trees as part of our closing circle.
Big thanks to Ash and Lilla for providing such an awesome local venue for events like ours.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had an absolutely fantastic time at Thrive. A great location for a surprise 30th birthday with friends and family. A very spacious house with plenty of room to sleep a group looking to explore the Waiohine Gorge and surrounding areas. Very cosy, comfortable and clean. Will definitely be back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a family reunion at Thrive over a weekend. It catered well for 4 generations, 28 adults and 3 children. The communal living area coped with all the people, plenty of toilets and showers. Even though the weather wasn't very accommodating, raining, it didn't stop us from using the fire pit and pizza oven. Loved the house, plenty of games in and out, and 2 fires that kept such a big area very very warm. Ash was a great host and made us feel very welcome, we will be back. Thank you Ash

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place! Well appointed in a beautiful area. The pizza oven was a real treat, and even though the house was very spacious it was cozy and warm the whole time. I'm definitely looking forward to visiting again.
