★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was interested to dine although when ask for a bar stool with a back it was declined there were many high backed bar stools available. I was a single diner, I wanted to feel more comfortable and safe so I would not fall back and I was not welcomed at all. You said you just opened 2 weeks ago and to decline a perfectly reasonable request is not in your best interest. I actually rarely take the time to write reviews as I too am a restaurateur and understand service. I went to 46 & York they had the best service and were very accommodating I spent A a lot $$ please take a leaf from their service. Good luck.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Perhaps we came in with too high expectations after reading the reviews. Our experience was a disappointment for us and rather confusing. Neither the menu or the plain interior suggested of an Italian or Parisian influence, despite the latter being stated on Va Bene's website. The Latin American music did not help. Also the tables and bar stools were too small and uncomfortable. Lamb rack came with only two tiny cutlets - not enough even to taste properly and that's for $42 dish!. Beef was delicious but tough to cut with the blunt knife given to us and the side greens that came with it were undercooked and plain. Chocolate ganache wasn't balanced. It was too sweet by itself and the berry syrup underneath was also sweet. Drinks were all right and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a girls night here at Va Bene, we were welcomed into this beautiful space by the lovely women running the floor. They took extra care to make us feel comfortable and special. The Chianti wine there was incredible - I wish I asked for the name of it. I will definitely be back for another! We ordered a selection of plates that we shared, the portion size was generous for the quality of the food and all dishes were delicious. I especially loved the beef bourguignon, it was full of flavour and perfect for a winters night - highly recommend this sweet spot if you are a true lover of great food and service, they won't disappoint! ??⚡

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We started with a cocktail at Happy Hour and then came back for dinner a couple of hours later. Excellent service, friendly and cheerful, is one highlight of our evening. The other being the food, fresh oysters, Spanish sardines, truffle mash and melt in the mouth beef dishes. Fabulous! Highly recommended.
