Nice camp grounds for all kinds of events. They have it all with good friendly staff. The camp could do with a bit of renovation as everything is starting to feel old and in need of repairs, cleaning and painting.

Location was great, Setting was great, Activities were great, Instructors were great however..... Camp is run down... site hadnt seen a proper clean in a long time and the shower/toilet facilities wouldnt pass a health check or come close and quite frankly were absolutely disgusting.. septic tank hadnt been emptied in a very long time and it smelt of sewage the entire stay which really brought the whole camp down to 1 star. Alot of little things like rusty shower curtain bar with all the curtain rings missing so they have just tied twine to the shower curtain added to the disappointment along with cold showers because the gas ran out after hours. A new building being placed on site during our stay was a constant source of jack hammer noise which was really inappropriate given the ammount of money paid to be there. Would have expected this to be done whilst no one was staying at the camp. Being quite a number of things wrong with our stay, I'm not going to list them all and will leave it at that Overall this camp would have been AMAZING in the 90s but that's where it has stayed, in the 90s or even 80s maybe.... investment is needed to make this place worth staying (day trips if you didnt visit the toilet block would be fine).

The food is ok nothing bad but nothing over the top amazing. The staff are always encouraging, nice, helpful and overall always have a good attitude towards students, teachers and parents. The motto of the camp is "Challenge by choice" meaning that no one can force you to do any of the activities but they want you to challenge yourself to do something that might be a bit scary. All of the high ropes activities are so surreal I recommend doing all of them. My most favouritest high ropes activity would be the flying kiwi I would recommend it for everyone who is anyone.

This place is a bit of a dump. Spent a week helping school camp there. The good parts are that the kids had a good time, the food was good, the reserve is nearby and I'd say the high ropes activities are safe. Besides that, every second thing in the camp is broken, rusty, faulty, worn out or missing. It looks like everything is done as cheap as possible. Bunk room shower water flows towards the toilet so you get wet feet whenever you go to the toilet. Another rooms toilet leaked. There are holes in the thin walls (you can hear loud kids from two rooms down), the common toilets are a mess, hole in the kitchen floor, mould on the dining room ceiling, no fire alarms, cabins had no windows (= no ventilation), cold showers from gas running out, old equipment, rickety chairs... I could go on. Management seems no better - information is scarce, spelling mistakes, orienteering maps missing, instructors sometimes running late etc. Instructors were very young and nice but not very professional. Very disappointed by the raft race where the instructions were incomplete and no rules were enforced so that one of the last group of kids didn't even build a raft - just swam a barrel, bamboo and string over and won the race... that just disappoints everyone who did a good job and eliminates the learning of the task. Look, we had fun and the kids enjoyed the camp but the facilities are pretty terrible. If you're already going here, keep your expectations low. If you're thinking of booking it, maybe look elsewhere.

I went here in March 2019 and it wasn't the most sanitary, or best place I've ever been too. I think it is very brave to open a camp, and it must be hard to run it, and I congratulate people for that. Just owners, if you could please do something to the cabins.

It was a beautiful place. To have Easter camp weekend. The hall, kitchen area, seat was great place. I didn't stay the night. I only out day time. I have got a disability with my health, and balance problems. Only problem l had was with steps had no rail help people down the steps. Otherwise l had a great time out there with my friends and my new friends l had meet out at the camp. I was happy, smiles, laughing, great time out there. And l would go there again next year to camp again in April next year 2022.God bless very one. ???

Great place to have a kids camp. Plenty to do and the 3 Days the kids when having a school camp there come back different people, some get over fears, some come out of themselves but all come back with smiles and laughters that every child should carry with them. If you child’s school doesn’t do camp there, they also run holiday programs. No child should miss out on going to Vertical Horizon Camp!!!
