★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Loved my time at the Pourerere Beach Freedom Camping spot, plenty of room but very popular over Easter weekend, pays to get in early to secure a spot.
Toilets are good, but water on site is not potable ie no drinking, so make sure you bring plenty of drinking water with you
If you can find it there are some sheltered spots from the wind but it wasnt too bad during the day, great views of the sea and the cargo ships heading into Napier.
Beach was full of activities, surfcasting, quads, motorbikes, horses, fishing boats etc
Nice spot for Astrophotography and Moonrise photography if you are in to that sort of thing, little to no light pollution, no street lights
