About Victoria Clinic - GP & Urgent Care

I qualified in Cape Town, South Africa, and moved to New Zealand in 1996.

After further study I completed a Diploma in Community Emergency Medicine from Auckland University, and gained Fellowship of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners and Fellowship of the Royal New Zealand College of Urgent Care.  I have worked in rural general practice and in Urgent Care clinics.

I enjoy the variety of presentations in Urgent Care and have a particular interest in soft-tissue injuries and orthopaedics.

I am married and have one daughter, and enjoy swimming and cycling in my spare time.

I agree with the reviews in reference to the receptionist. Since the change in location and staff, the quality of service(receptionist) is now worthy of 0 if it was an option. The nurse and doctor were awesome which I would have rated as a 5 but the receptionist is very rude and unprofessional. Because, she is the first person you make contact with on entry you'd expect more of a welcoming and professional experience but no quite the opposite. Consider upgrading thier skills in hospitality or maybe a change and I may reevaluate my review.

The receptionist was terrible . Did not communicate that my baby’s procedure won’t happen today , though she knew it . I had to wait nearly 2 hours with my 1 year old for covid . Had to ring twice from outside but never asked what I need to do , after all waste of time and covid test when went inside she says these won’t happen. We were not worried about my baby’s cold as we already told RAT was negative at Home. Terrible customer service, she makes life hard for many. I wonder why no action taken as I could see many people say the same at her attitude. Nurses are good.

Shocking service. Took three goes to get immigration x-rays done. First time was due to lock down, so not their fault. Second time, waited about an hour and a half, and were not informed that the x-ray machine had broken down. Meantime, I'm trying to pacify a crying baby for the client. After I stated we were being treated badly, we were told to come back an hour later. Fortunately, the client got the x-ray then. I paid for everything at the time of the service. However I have been informed several times that I have not paid. Tried to call today and after waiting one hour on cell phone, I get down to number three, at 5:15 pm and then get cut off!!! I suggest you go somewhere else! (I have never written a bad review before to any company, but I'm feeling real angry, and people deserve better than this.) I'd give no stars.

So shocked at the attitude of the receptionist. I’m travelling from out of town and needed a walk in GP for a long term cough - nothing to do with Covid and I’ve been rat tested. As soon as I mentioned a cough she backed away from me and sent me outside with no instructions. So I go and stand outside the door assuming she’d send someone out to me… nope. Tried to ask whether she’d send someone out to me and she said if I didn’t leave then I’d be escorted. I was so calm and patient… absolutely no help was offered, no advice on what I should do? I’ve never experienced such rude behaviour in my life.

I felt terrible. I waited in line for half an hour in the afternoon of February 14 to inquire about the immigration medical examination. I told us that we need to make an appointment before 5 p.m. and the earliest time of making an appointment is March 9. I called early in the morning of February 15. I also waited a long time to get through the phone, As a result, the operator told me that the earliest appointment time was April 11. I don't know why the change was so amazing. It was a waste of my time and telephone charges. Moreover, the operator's attitude was extremely bad and impatient. If this is the attitude of this hospital, I really feel speechless

Amazing customer service and amazing people. Never going anywhere else again. They are great/friendly people in all positions. Communicated well and listened. 5 star service... will recommend them above all other providers. Fully appreciate that emergency services are a demand service but these guys have service right... others were 4 to 6 hour waiting times (if you were lucky)..you can see that these guys offer a high level of service and care... just amazing to find a place like this... others need to learn from them.

If I could rate 0 stars I would. The receptionist here are really rude they don’t have any manners, there customer service is really bad. If you are the front face of a business you can’t be giving people attitude everyday. If you hate your job so much then leave. I had my two babies in the car on a hot summery day and we had to sit in the car for 2-3 BLOODY HOURS. Can you imagine how hot and worrying that is as a single mother with kids. They were giving ugly looks hearing my kids cries but what do you expect? How about you try and have TWO babies sit in a car seat for 2-3 hours in one spot just waiting to be seen. How annoying. If this is how life is going to be with doctors I’d suggest you guys give us a time to be there instead of making us wait in cars where it is extremely hot and there is no shade to park in your guys car park. Especially for those with kids. I WILL NOT RECOMMEND GOING HERE PEOPLE.

Unfortunately we waited a long time but the quality of care we go was outstanding. I told them that my son is autistic and they brought us out the back to a curtained area almost immediately. When we got to speak with nurses and the doctor, we felt as if we had their undivided attention and that my son was in the best possible hands. Even though they were so busy, their attention to detail and senses of humour were as if we were their first patients of the day (the nurse had already worked over twelve hours). Excellent care, highly recommended.
