★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good reputable salon but overall the stylists could have take more time to get to know a new client and listen to them. The colour was way off what I usually have done and the cut was ok at best.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely disgusted with this Salon. I had a consult with the colourist 2 days before my appointment. Got a txt to confirm time and date. I arrived for my 9.30am appointment to looks of confusion. My colourist wasn't rostered on to start until 11 and my appointment had been moved to the following week (i was in town on a short visit) From what i could gather someone had called the day before to change their appointment and whoever took that call changed mine instead.
Extremely unprofessional and totally unacceptable.
On the plus side, i had paid for a voucher for the service and was refunded immediately when calling customer service (unfortunately i dont have this particular salon chain closer than a 2 hour drive away from where i live so couldn't use the voucher at a later date)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had my first appointment here yesterday and it was lovely. The staff really knew what they were talking about and knew how to explain what they were going to do with my hair in a way I could understand. Hair looks amazing exactly what I wanted, very happy and will be coming back :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My daughter and I booked in on the day (Wednesday the 13th Jan 2021) and got a kerasilk treatment and balayage package, they were so accomodating and so professional. Our hairdressers were 2 ladies from London and they were so nice, just happy about what they were doing, chatty and genuinely kind and very good at what they do.
I have had kerasilk treatments in the past at vivo in Rotorua and Hamilton and the hairdresser complained the whole time and once they put a junior stylist on and I came out not happy.
These ladies are the benchmark of great customer service, and a genuine love for hairdressing, we walked out so happy, Vivo boss people you need to pay these ladies more, they are the best I have come across in the 4 years I have been going to vivo hairdressers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I came here to get a re-do on a job from another salon. Tanya fixed my orange-band of bleaching on my roots, and lifted my darkly-toned hair to a dusty-rose colour. I'm really stoked on the results, and she gave me good advice on the correct products to maintain my hair health. Really happy with the fix, and all round it was a successful trip. Everyone in the salon was great.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Horrible South African woman working in there, the worst customer service I've ever encountered in my life and the most careless, rushed haircut I've ever received. Really unpleasant to talk to so I did my best to avoid conversation, massively condescending and I think it'd be in the business' best interest to get rid of her.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As an existing client I will not be returning. Today I booked my toddler in for his first haircut. We arrived on time for our appointment, the stylist spoke to the receptionist in front of us and said I don’t have time for this it should be moved to a later time as she was still with a client. She then assumed someone else might have been able to do it. When she returned she took us through to sit down and asked if my son could sit still for a haircut. I assumed hair dressers were trained professionals and could cut toddlers hair seen as you can book 0-12 year olds on their website. When she asked what we wanted his hair like it wasn’t possible (obviously because she was rushed for time) but made out it was too dangerous because he couldn’t sit still. She didn’t give us a chance to settle our son to explain to him what was happening, she didn’t want him holding a lollipop or having a video to distract him which we as parents thought would help. It made us feel very uncomfortable and as a first haircut should have been an exciting experience - instead we felt like the salons disorganised booking system was our fault. We were not charged for this service but in future I will be taking our son to someone who is an actual hairdresser.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’m utterly disappointed by my visit to this salon. I came here for the first time on December 11. I booked an appointment online and someone rung me to confirm a time, I explained on the phone that i already had level 9 blonde hair with level 7 regrowth of about 10cm and I was wanting some warm brunette shades throughout my hair to break up the blonde and blend in my natural regrowth to a more balayage look. They assured me this would be fine and explained that there wasn’t a category on the website to book this under so they would just book it under half head foils and I would be able to talk to the stylist on the day and they’d be able to do what I was after. The minute I walked in the door I didn’t feel welcome. The stylist (Brenda - I later found out) ignored me for the first 10 minutes while I was sitting waiting for her, and then did not introduce herself to me. When she did come over she asked me what I was after and promptly shut me down with what felt like a verbal attack saying she “did not provide those services” and that I had booked wrong for a half head foils and that was going to get that or i should “rebook with another stylist for a later date, or leave” there was literally no other dates available until January and I had driven 1h and 15 mins to get there). As she was talking to me I couldn’t stop myself from bursting into tears. She made no effort to console me, and ended up saying she could tone my hair all over with a darker ash shade (even though I wanted warm toned) but if she put in low lights then she wouldn’t be able to tone the rest of the blonde to match (I’m not a stylist but even I know you can tone the rest after you colour….). So she ended up getting an intern to tone my hair at the basin (who was lovely but hurt me so much brushing out my very brittle wet blonde hair in the basin… and I was visibly being hurt by this and she didn’t notice… plus so much breakage happened when she did that). Then Brenda cut my hair and I asked to keep the natural U shape, not take too much off (only about 5cm) and layer it, with face framing bits. She cut my hair, but did not show me it, then curled it (and after it was curled I couldn’t see the cut properly so didn’t notice straight away) and while she was curling it she was like “oh there’s a really short bit here in the back… what’s that from” and I was like ummm I don’t know??? And she was like “well I definitely didn’t cut that too short” and I’m thinking it’s probably broken off in the basin when the intern was majorly damaging my hair. Anyway, the whole time I was just wanting to run out of there… the whole experience was just awful and I felt unsafe. I didn’t get what I was after, and was charged so much. I asked for a receipt of what services I was paying for and Brenda wouldn’t give me one and said I could peep over her screen but she couldn’t provide me with one. It was super shady. I was annoyed at that because I’ve been to the vivo in Silvia park before and they are awesome and provided me with a quote beforehand AND a receipt. I was too upset to push the matter further and just wanted to get out of the environment asap, so I paid and left. The worst part is, she absolutely HACKED my hair. See below. It looks like a 2 year old chopped it with blunt scissors, I’m so upset I don’t feel comfortable having it straight where the cut is more obvious and I don’t have the money (after spending $219 on this horrific toner and cut) to fix it. I just want to fix it :(
