I paid $500 for 2 nights for the "Superior" suite on booking.com thinking I was getting a bargain ?. There was nothing superior about the room. Everyone before me has already pointed out the problems with this hotel. The 2 stars is fir the staff that tried to make it as comfortable as they could.

Absolutely apauling on all levels! We stayed in room 206 and the toilet was blocked on arrival, there were bed bugs, room wasn't clean, smells like stale cigarettes, the sheets had stains on them, bathroom looked like it hasn't been cleaned since the building was built, other guests were very loud running around in the halls around 3am, the staff wasn't friendly, best part of my stay was to leave! HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

I stayed in room 208, which was SUPER outdated and generally pretty gloomy and neglected. It really just wasn't a nice place to stay... There was paint coming off the walls in places, the carpet was extremely worn down, with stains here and there. There were poorly plastered touch ups on the walls, where damage had obviously been done previously and been cheaply covered up.. The bathroom grout was orange and discoloured, and the walls were painted brown?.. there was no bodywash left in the bottle, the towels were rough and worn and the shower head was at about nipple height - it was so low.. The facilities were minimal for tea/coffee making. There is no insulation between walls, so you can easily hear your neighbours talking. Or the crazy lady In the hallway talking loudly to herself. My window look out to the other side of the hotel, so there was no natural light. AND it looked like the last guests in flight magazine and check instructions had been left on the bedside .. I would really not like to stay here again.

Happy with the price we paid. Beds comfy, clean and tidy, big rooms, lovely old building. Situated well for variety of restaurants. Shower was pathetic and not safe for getting in and out of easily as over a deep bath and not suitable for anyone over 5ft.

Bathroom looks like it has never been cleaned - grout is yellow and brown, with mould in places. Requested parking in booking but nobody bothered to read the booking. Heathens roam the halls โ€˜till all hours like thereโ€™s a party in the hotel itself. pretty sure staff had something going on in the room next to mine. Could smell cigarettes through the vents. Photos are a sham, do not stay here.

The room is large and the bed is good. I have no issue with the shower but the towel is large enough for a toddler. Yes this place needs a serious make over. However for what you pay it delivers where it matters. If you are a light sleeper ask for a room with no view as street noise could be a factor. The car park is not secure, they leave the gates open from 7 am-10pm , be like leaving the front door to your house open and going out, it was mentioned they had CCTV, that is also cheap and cheerful lucky to get an ID off it if not defeated by a cap. All and all great location for dinning out, central, bed and room ok, if you want flash pay double what this is worth and you might then be happy.

I tried to leave at 6:50 am and the car park was chained shut. Noone around to open it. Front desk was in darkness and unattended. It was still locked at 7:15 am! The bed was two single beds tied together with a single sheet across the top half only (??). The foot area had no sheets at all, the duvet had no cover either (!!). There was no underlay on the mattress. I had to remake the bed because it was made weirdly and the room wasn't serviced while I was out. No clean towels for day two and dirty crockery wasn't taken care of, bin wasn't emptied. My room had a high window that I couldn't reach to close (it didn't ever fully close) and I had to ask a front desk person to take a look. He stood on the windowsill to close the window. Some exposed wiring in the room. The heat pump controller's screen didn't display any information but it beeped when the keypad was pressed. Odd mix of cool and warm lighting above the bed.
