★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Extremely long wait times, only one testing line for WOF, staff were rude, strict covid rules in place yet staff didn't seem to know how to wear a mask correctly.
WOF cost approx, $7 more than the average WOF cost.
Wait times of over 1.5 hours, when enquired about toilet was told it was out of order and to walk approx 500 meters to the public toilets while also having to wait in my car to move it forward, and to top it off the coffee machine was also put of order.
The only positive was the actual vehicle testing mechanics were friendly and professional.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Petty treatment and lying involved in the Restricted test. Failed the test due to "not stopping" at a stop sign which we cycled through twice. Car came to a complete stop while instructor "Josie H" wasn't watching road. Said that due to not being able to feel herself pushed against the seatbelt I didn't come to a complete stop. It's called progressive breaking and I have it captured on dash cam that I came to a complete stop at every stop sign. She also said that next time I approach a stop sign I should look straight ahead until I get behind the yellow line, that I shouldn't look left and right until I'm stopped. In her words "you don't look left and right when coming up to a red light!" Completely dangerous and arrogant advice and on complaining to the desk the receptionists intentionally gave a false number as the poor man on the call explained they often do.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The staff are kind and friendly and the service is professional.
But whenever I need to renew my WOF, it's a pain, because it takes a long time! If you're lucky, you'll wait an hour.
I had some issues the last time I renewed my WOF, but it was because of Alert Level 3.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When I walked into VTNZ Whangarei the driving examiner told me to full out the form on the table and if u haven't finished in 10 minutes you have failed your driving exam. The examiner was very rude through out the whole exam and failed me on taking the 2rd safe option when turning into traffic and driving 45km in a 50 zone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have gone to VTNZ multiple times everytime I have had a terrible experience. From doing my drivers license to simple things in the office and wof. The people just don't care are rude and just can't do simple tasks. All in all go to AA nicer stuff actually know what they are doing. Everytime I've been there always had a great experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went in for a restricted license test. Was met by a grumpy man who was more concerned about my Dad's mask than saying hello to me.
He did nothing to make me feel at ease as I was a bit nervous. He mumbled the directions and he failed me for not selecting the right lane at the first roundabout and not turning left after the light went off. Worst experience ever. This guy should take lessons in social skills. Please go somewhere else instead off wasting your time and money here. This was a very unprofessional experience.
