Hop on hop off bus - This is by no means a substitute to a 'winery tour' with your own personal driver, however please read on. It's simply a great means of transport around the main portion of the island going from winery to winery. My partner and I had no plans once we got off the ferry at Waiheke Island and decided the easiest cheapest option was to get this bus as it'd take us where we wanted to explore and to the restaurants/wineries we wanted to visit. As is the case with most companies, they are only as good as the employees working for them on the front line. If you're lucky enough to get the bus with the tour guide Astrid, your experience will be an awesome one. Undoubtedly the nicest lady we've met in NZ. She was so willing to help, she was funny, and she made what could have been a very dull and boring bus trip, an enjoyable, informative journey.

What a beautiful spot for a ferry terminal. The lovely Matiatia Bay surrounds this well equipped depot. Ferries and buses swap passengers and the overpriced cafe serves decent coffee and light fare. Good facilities and a helpful service desk here as well.

Great terminal great coffee while waiting. It was lucky it was a fantastic winter night and not raining, Knowing that the island was over run with people that weekend, was sad too see that they put on a small ferry at peak time.

Beautiful place. Main ferry terminal of Waiheke island for passengers. This place has coffee, AT Hop card top up machine (use in public transport), washrooms and details of all the things you can do in Waiheke island (wine tasing, archery etc). You can take bus, taxi or pre arranged wine tasting tours from here. You can also walk 15 min to Oneroa Beach where you will see beautiful beach, shops and restaurants.

Small and cozy, clean and organized yet artistic with a sculpture at the entrance.

Just few meters from the terminal (up the Oceanview road on the right) you can rent a scooter which is by far the best way to explore the island. It is great fun to ride around and you can see the whole island in one day.

It was one of lovliest experience to visit at Waiheke Island, if you ever plan to visit do hire electric bike from Island and do some cycling. Cycling is one of next level of fun at island especially with family and friends.
