โ โ โ โ โ Nice little site with plenty of room to set up camp. Ideal for those that are self contained however there is a long drop and fireplace available

โ โ โ โ โ The toilet is a bit disgusting and there is a sink but without water. There is only rainwater. But it was a pretty place with a short walk to the river. Perfect for one night in the nature.

โ โ โ โ โ Very basic campsite ideal for self contained but also great for short stays of a night or two. We had a private campsite down the river further with a fireplace but no toilet or water. Just be prepared ?

โ โ โ โ โ Just off state highway 1. Sealed road to campsite. Has a long drop toilet. There is also a covered area that has a fire place and table. No power. No fires allowed around campsite, signs were up saying this. Nice little stream for water or a small swim, wasn't deap so more like sit in the river to cool down. I put some photos of this. Stream is 2min walk away from campsite.

โ โ โ โ โ Probably the best campsite I have stayed so far because it has a shelter with a fire place which is a gift on rainy days. Beautiful surrounding too! Totally recommend that one if you are looking for a campsite accessible by car in the area.

โ โ โ โ โ For a free doc campsite this place is a gem, we went last week in mid November and it was just us and one other group staying there. There's an open hut with a picnic table and fireplace as well as a bathroom, the river that there's a walkway access to has whio nesting sites which is also really awesome even though we didn't see any, i will definitely stay here again if I ever find myself in the area :)

โ โ โ โ โ We went to Waikoko Valley Campsite twice: once to have our very late lunch and another time when unfortunately we couldn't stay as there was fire in the woods in the neighborhood. Cannot really say how's sleeping there but the place looked peaceful, there was even a sink but very small toilet (longdrop). There's no signal but the birds make for it, just listen to the nature

โ โ โ โ โ Great basic campsite with the bonus of a covered area with a wood fire to keep you warm at night. The ground can be tricky if you are pitching a tent. Very rocky ground.โgreat view up into the ranges.
