★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Motel not hotel Photos of this place are deceiving. Did not show that theres a bar right outside our window had no sleep for 2nights. Owners were rushy an made us feel uncomfortable. The bar ladies Chargrd us differnt amounts $$ for the same drink an just laughed at us when askd about it. Found old food in cupboards an under couch. Would have rather saved my money an slept in our truck!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely hosts that went beyond their way to find the best room for us. Simple facilities but calm and with all we needed. Very central if you want to visit beaches around Northland. Totally worth it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The only available accommodation we could find last minute on Waitangi weekend. To be honest, we would never go for this type of accommodation if not for last minute everywhere else all booked up. First impressions of this place is that it's a rather old, beat up place with some kind of sleazy bar attached to it. Upon entering the premise, it wasn't ad bad as what we expect. The room, yes its slightly old but neat, clean and tidy. The host knowing that we have a toddler who will be sleeping on the sofa came bringing us more linens to cover the sofa and pillow for kids as well as extra blanket for my kiddo. Bed was comfortable on my side but not so on my husband's side which he said it's too soft for him and he is the one who will be doing all the driving the next day. For dinner we tried the food at the bar. Standard bar food. And there was live music. Singer was good and has a good voice luckily as our room is right next to the bar. Sound proofing of the room isn't that great given it's an old building. But we were too tired and the singing doesn't really bother us. Overall we had a good overnight stay.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The man doesn’t know how to talk to customers, literally screamed at us and swore so much. Canceled our booking last minute when we desperately needed a place late at night. Just because his wife miss understood or misheard the time of arrival. Worst worst experience ever.
