A little piece of paradise! We had an awesome time at this beautiful bay. Waking up to the noise of waves and a view of the beach. Thank you so much to Fay and Shane who made our stay from the moment we arrived until we left. I would recommend and we’ll be back.

Wonderful windswept hidden beach at the end of a windy sealed road. Almost a cove, with the smaller size amplifying the sea.

Lovely sandy beach, and is a nice beach for swimming on those hot summer days. If you are a diver looking for pāua don't waste your time. There are plenty there but are undersize.

Customer service is poor. Inconsiderate. They didn’t even bother to reply my message after humbly requesting them if they could extend our booking due to beach closures. We were supposed to go to the holiday park but we cancelled it after the hawkes bag council announced beach closure due to tsunami alert. I requested if they could give us consideration to extend it or use it in some other time as it was an unexpected circumstance. But they insisted the non refundable policy which I think is quite unfair. I don’t recommend this holiday park as no sympathy and consideration to customers especially nowadays we dont predict whats gonna happen.

This is a lovely place to camp by a beach with lagoon but with one negative. Many of the powered sites are under the shade of trees. The sites all mowed nicely. The facilities were good.....with large fridges and freezers, good water pressure in the showers. However, they all needed cleaning! There were cobwebs and bugs, filthy windows. The family room uninviting....dark and dirty. It was a pity we got rained out and left a day early.

Lovely spot in a beautiful part of NZ. The beach is great and the bush walks nearby are awesome. We had two self contained cabins, one that had been renovated and one that hadn't. Both were very basic, but had most things that you would need. Both had cockroaches. Renovated one was much warmer and had working shower and clean toilet. The shower in the other one was unusable (just a dribble when turned to hot), the toilet was disgusting and didn't flush properly. There were mice running around the room at night keeping us awake. There were mouse droppings around the kitchen and bed. A mouse nibbled the corner of our chiller bag. Bunks were very squeaky and unstable with broken bars. There were only 4 chairs in a cabin for 6 people.

Really nice campground, we stayed for 4 nights and loved the holiday vibe (it was between Christmas and New Year). Great campsite for kids and not too big. There's probably not enough showers and toilets at peak times, but we managed fine. You have to wade through a river to get to the beach, but it's only knee/thigh high. The river was great for our SUP and the beach was also great.

Great location. Owners are really friendly, even during the very busy times. Facilities are good and clean. Pitches are various sizes, so if you have a big tent or van, check ahead. Christmas and New Year are very popular with regulars, so I suggest you book early and aim for mid Jan. There are some nice short (3-4km) walks with great views close by. The beach is great, but you need to use your brain and stay between the flags so the surf life savers can keep an eye on you.
