Wifi is really bad, can't connect to anything. Wifi needs to be a lot stronger. Room is so dusty and TV so small.

Great place and very friendly staff no doubt. Very tasty food and many varieties BUT the hotel needs to be very careful of dietary requirements and lists the ingredients of what is being served such as liquors in some items! Thanks

2nd MIQ stay at the Waipuna and again - is Grade A!. All staff, hotel, security, navy, army, ancillary etc - super friendly and super helpful, while being assertive and clear on quarantine rules and regulations. You just can't complain without being a totally self-righteous narcissist. One complaint though - too much yummy fattening food, but mix it up with ordering salads only, opt fruit over cakes and deliver Countdown healthy options. This time only half hour exercise breaks, but again - still can get outide to breathe the air. We focus on medical staff but the MIQ hotel teams are (and have been) on the front-line and are equally our modern day heroes. Borders are re-opening, one of the last lots through, and I can't wait to leave - but thank you!!!

Nice hotel for an isolation stay in early December - the food options were great, which definitely helped to stave off boredom, as the internet speeds were prehistoric which lead to me paying a lot for a mobile plan whilst isolating. The staff were all very patient and professional, overall a nice place

I am suffering from a terminal illness that results in death from asphyxiation. I cannot lie on my back during sleep as this causes me to slip into unconsciousness and potentially death unless I am roused. Consequently I sleep on my side with a pressure reducing medical mattress. Jan 2022 I have been placed into MIQ at this facility. Months prior to arrival I advised the commandant of the camp my precise needs, bed type, mattress type, toilet and dietary requirements. On arrival I was horrified to discover the bed provided was exactly the right design to put me at most risk of death. Having travelled from the UK and having no sleep for over 30 hours I attempted to rest on this bed but found each time I relaxed my breathing shallowed and I went dizzy from the precursor of asphyxiation. I called the on-site medic who's answer to this inconvenience to her nighttime activities was to issue me with and oxygen saturation monitor with alarm facility so that when I did fall into deep sleep and my breathing stopped it would wake me and save my life. I did suggest she could watch over me throughout the night, but she had other things to do. I now rest on a standard double bed and I can sleep for an hour or so before waking from the pain in my legs and back due to loss of muscle and fat. It's day four here for me and my very tired, very angry wife, seems almost as if the camp guards are actually trying to kill me with apathy, ineptitude, incompetence and a monumental lack of empathy. Don't come to NZ if you expect the government to "be kind" to you. I could go on about the lack appropriate toileting, showering and outside access but no one seems to care so I'll save what little breath have left. Of other note, the foods good, most people are pleasant, the navy guys are great and the guards don't bully us much.

Hotel location, Lake view are good. Rooms are spacious, food is below average. Not much option to select a suitable food for us. Probably suitable for Newzealanders. Uber Eats is the only choice. Staffs are polite and responsive!! Internet service was worst across all the rooms when i inquired with other guest. No proper solution even after complaining multiple times. Seeing other Google review comments on same issue, seems Hotel management is not bothering much about this. As this being the quarantine hotel they should fix this problem so guest don't get any trouble in isolation.

Liked the stay, nice and friendly staff, very organized and quick service, rooms are spacious. If your lucky you’ll get a sea view room. My only comments were internet was slow and bathroom door has no lock
