★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Friendly and helpful receptionist. My camper van had an overheating issue which they were able to diagnose and give recommendations on to resolve. Provided a printout (very helpful when I took my van in for repairs at my next long stay destination) and a verbal report answerung any questions I had. Due to travelling time constraints got a full service and they did what they could with cooling system. Overall cost seemed fair and I was happy with it. Highly recommend them largely because of the diagnostic printout and verbal report provided.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My campervan was leaking a little bit of oil, so I brought it here. They checked it out for a really reasonable price and provided me with an estimate for repairs. What I appreciated most here is that they said these repairs were not necessary, gave me some tips regarding the situation, and off I went. In a world where a mechanic could easily convince a backpacker they need to throw a bunch of money into the van, this place treated me with respect and honesty. They also had appointments available before the other local shops and they communicated well. So, I would definitely recommend.

They take advantage of backpackers as they know they're unlikely to be repeat customers. Was quoted an extortionate amount for work that didn't need carrying out. Was told that all shock absorbers needed replacing. Went to another garage close by and handed him the quote given by these rip off merchants and he highlighted the areas where they were lying or problems didn't even exist (which there were plenty of), turns out only the upper ball joint needed replacing, which these con artists were unable to identify as the issue. I was even told by the mechanic that in his 30+ years he's never come across a vehicle where all the shock absorbers needed replacing in one go. Go figure. My guess is this - they try and take and advantage of good honest people every now and again when business is slow and unfortunately it was me that occasion. They tried to swindle over $1250 from me. The actual fix including labour was $170.
The funny thing is was that I was already really apprehensive about getting the vehicle checked as I was worried about being taken advantage of. $85 wasted for a BS diagnosis.
As a new resident of Wanaka I now tell everyone I can to avoid them and that they should go to Alpine Auto Centre instead

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've been at this place few days ago because my partner's car wasn't working and also making an weird noise. Car was at the opposite side of the road, in front of the workshop, which by the way is where my partner live.
So I asked if someone could have a quick look just to see what was going on and probably book an appointment to fix it.
But no, they guy who was there didn't want to help us and said that the only way was by waiting for 5 days so they could have a look on it. Freaking 5 days just to see what was going on with a car which as in front of their place.
So of course I couldn't wait for it and had to reach some other mechanic...
We call for Wanaka A Auto Centre Recovery and then sent someone to check it in 5 minutes and helped us to get everything done in time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome service from Caleb and his team : We were visiting in Wanaka when we had issues with our brakes and Caleb prioritised our safety and assisted us with fixing the brakes. A quick call to his suppliers in Christchurch with overnight courier and replacement of new brakes. This quick response enabled us to return home safely without delays and rescheduling flights. Caleb kindly loaned us a loan vehicle which was very convenient for the rest of visit in Wanaka. We experienced fantastic service from this Wanaka mechanic and definitely would highly recommend him. Professional with a real can do attitude and focus on our safety! Celeste and Raymond
