★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mark is an amazing teacher, we did a beginner's lesson and felt great taken care of. Mark introduced us at the beach to the basics of surfing, then we went into the waves for practice. Managed to stand up a couple of times and got hooked to surfing. We'll definitely come back next time we're in NZ! :)

It was our first surfing lesson and definitely felt like we learnt a lot and he was very encouraging throught out to keep us going back even though we fell off the board multiple times! Would 100% recommend.

I would highly recommend having surf lessons with him if you are traveling through Westport and looking to learn something new whilst having lots of fun!

Although it was a rainy day and the conditions weren't perfect in the water, Mark's guidance and positive energy ensured that we felt comfortable and relaxed. We would recommend Mark and West Coast Surf to everyone. Thanks to Mark for a fantastic experience and for teaching me efficiently and having me standing on my first wave. I will definitely be coming back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We arrived late in the afternoon and called Mark for our first surf lesson ever. He was fully booked for the next morning, but told us he could help us that same evening. This was an amazing experience. Standing up on a board for the first time with a beautiful sunset on the background. In the end we stayed four days surfing and also made use of the tips & tricks option. Mark really taught us how to surf with a lot of personal attention.
Mark is an amazing teacher, he is really experienced, gives you confidence and takes his time even if you are not a natural!
