★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Your receptionist sofie takes ages to answer your phone. You open at 8 called at 9 was calling for 5 minutes no answer only to be put on hold again once she answered sort it out.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I got a bill from a cash collecting company today for a consultation in 2016 that I am sure it has been paid for. I always paid the bill on the counter (I don't even know if you let a person leave without making payment?). Also, I kept the same phone number all along what stopped you from calling me? It feels like a scam and I am very disappointed.

Well at West End I have received nothing but fantastic service. The doctors nurses and reception staff are professional and kind. Highly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The centre has a family feel which I appreciate. In my experience the staff have been kind, warm and friendly and I've seen others be treated in the same way. In a sometimes challenging service and definately in the current challenging times, well done ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The doctors are good, however the booking system to get an appointment leaves a lot to be desired, which is why I have rated them so low.
In a normal world, you call your doctor and arrange for an appointment while you're on the call.
However, at West End Medical Centre the receptionist tells you that they will have to get the nurse / GP to call you back to make an appointment - and sometimes they don't call you back.
We also live in a place with poor reception so if we're at home, we often end up having to play phone-tag in order to try and get an appointment sorted.
Furthermore, sometimes at work you simply cannot take a call - compounding this issue yet again.
It is my belief that they (like most of Whangarei) are short-staffed or overworked, which would mean it is not their fault and likely their method of making appointments is a triage system of sorts - but it doesn't help their patients to get things sorted!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When we first joined Westend under Dr Hilary Willson, it was an amazing practice to come to. Over the years it has changed, and availability of appointments lacking.
I am still waiting for a call back from the Dr I sent photos to in September! Oh but I have received an account for payment.
For this reason and the many others over the past couple of years, I have changed practices.
