★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I can't believe I have never visited this place before after living in Wanganui for so long. Its a nice place to wander around but not if you want to take the family dog for a walk, because it's a no dog zone. It would be nice to have more viewing places of the lake as its quite picturesque. Am glad I visited.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a fantastic walk, although it takes a bit longer than the board says. It sure is typical country bush walk with a little bit of lake which can been seen at times. Choose a dry day to go, path could get puggy in the wet...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is not as developed just a track around the lake it's a great walk but I would use sturdy footwear as in the wet season it's a bit muddy

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stumbled upon this nestled next to the road coming from Kai Iwi beach. Nice little 30 minute walk around the lake. Lots of bird life. Not a lot of colour in August. Autumn would be better. Not many views over the lake. Could do with a jetty or viewing platform. Worth the stop though.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful lake. Loop is about 1.8km long and it's a wonderful walk/run. Lots of birds and just a nice place to get some fresh air and peace and quiet. Some roots here and there on the trail. Beautiful all times of the day/seasons. Big car park with easy parking.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A pleasant and peaceful place to walk year-round, which offers the opportunity to see a range of native plants and birds. Walk close to dusk for the opportunity to see ruru/morepork perched in trees alongside the track.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great bush walk around the lake. Good place to take the kids for some exploring. Lots of birds to see. Not suitable for prams or wheelchairs and would advise sturdy footwear, gets quite muddy in winter. Highly recommend a visit.
