About Wilderness Motorhome Sales
An ex rental motorhome will usually have done higher mileage than a privately owned motorhome of the same age. However, high mileage may not be an issue if the motorhome is built on a European vehicle base such as a Fiat Ducato which gives plenty of reliable motoring up to at least 300,000km.
If you purchase an ex rental from a licensed motorhome dealer, not only are you protected by the Consumer Guarantees Act but also the trading standards required of licensed motor vehicle dealers. Many reputable dealers will also offer a mechanical warranty of around three months on ex rental motorhome sales.
Whether you plan to purchase an ex rental or a motorhome from a private seller it pays to get a thorough pre purchase inspection done by a qualified person.

Colette and the team from Auckland were brilliant. The whole sales process was effortless and professionally managed. When I picked up my motorhome on the 30th September I was astounded at how 'new' it looked after the team had completed detailing it. I stepped inside and there was a card congratulating me on my purchase and to kick off my new 'Van Life' style they gave me a bottle of wine and some chocolates as a gift. Thank you so much guys I am over the moon with my motorhome and I will most definitely recommend you to any one who asks where I bought my Burstner. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We bought a Burstner Lyseo TD745. Lovely motorhome and initially great service and advice during the sales process. Our experience so far with the after sales service has been woeful. We have paid top $ and we are receiving bottom $ service. Slow and no solutions to our issues. We are made to feel that they don’t care, the sale has been made, job done. They have ruined the whole experience, after spending months choosing what we thought was the best product, we badly got it wrong!! Would never buy from SmartRV again, unfortunately a very expensive lesson to learn.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We recently purchased an ex-Wilderness Bürstner from a private seller. The 2016 motorhome is in excellent condition but on our first journey we had the unfortunate experience of breaking the fridge handle!
Not knowing who to turn to I contacted Wilderness Motorhomes and explained our predicament. Without hesitation I was put at ease by the friendly helpful attitude of the staff! The vehicle was promptly booked in for inspection of damage, and within 45 minutes the repair had been diagnosed, costed and after approval, fixed to its original state!
From the moment I contacted them I felt as if we were a part of the Wilderness extended family. And after such professional and courteous service, we are!
Thank you Jenni, Tracey and the whole team at Wilderness who looked after us today.
We highly recommend this fine operation for anything Campervan related!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I couldn't have asked for a better response from Wilderness Motorhomes when I recently contacted them with an electric bed issue while travelling in Northland.. As their w/shop was fully booked for a week ahead, the super-helpful Jenni Cournane booked our Burstner into a nearby technician (Reinmann-Tuning) who was able to attend to it immediately on our arrival in Auckland. Everyone we spoke with at WM was just as helpful, from allowing us to leave our repaired m/home at their base while we went away for the day - to sourcing a replacement habitation door light cover. They really take pride in providing a first-class service.

Jenni has amazing product knowledge and finds creative solutions to maintenance issues. We came from out of town to get work done and would do so again without hesitation. When a refund on parts purchased on our behalf was required it was done expeditiously. These are now my "go to" people for motorhome sales and service. I cannot speak highly enough of them.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a fantastic experience with the Wilderness team and travelled the South Island in their 'Compact for 2' motorhome over 2 weeks. Although the smallest of the fleet, it was perfect for a single person and surprisingly spacious particularly for a bigger lad. It drove really well and handled the windy roads with ease. The ability to manually shift gears helps getting up those inclines. The team's customer service was exceptional, I got prompt responses to my queries via the online chat before booking, the booking and vehicle pickip process was easy and seamless, and their on-road support was fantastic when I had a wifi issue. I hadn't realised my MS account was automatically backing up/uploading all my videos to the cloud and half way through my trip I had ran out of data on the unlimited wifi plan. The team at Wilderness topped me up at no extra charge and told me my uploads were very high and to check what might be causing it. Overall a fantastic experience with the company and their vehicle.
