About aMAZEme
Opened January 2010 at 1335 Paradise Valley Road. aMAZEme is a fabulous new attraction to Rotorua. 1.4 kilometres of winding hedge lined pathways take you to the centre of the maze. You are bound to get lost and are guaranteed to have loads of fun finding your way.
aMAZEme is focussed on providing good old fashioned fun for families at an affordable price. It is owned and operated by the Jensen family.
At aMAZEme your children will delight in the small animal petting experience, aviary and effectively designed playground. Everyone can enjoy McGregor’s garden with raised garden beds full of fruit, berries and vegetables in season.
The object of this maze is to find your way to the centre. Once in the maze you will find openings in the hedge which you may or may-not choose to go through. At some places along the path are permanent blocks, which means you will have to retrace your steps if you wish to progress further. Directly ahead as you enter the maze are a series of one-way doors, which can only be opened from inside. These are for a quick exit from the centre or from any path.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place, staff were lovely. Give yourself and the family a good few hours as there are lots of activities besides the maze. The actual maze is much harder than imagined. Don't use the map, take it on, you'll love it and the admission is very fair considering the amount of time you can spend there.
Highly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Second time visiting here. Our young kids love it, and it's always a race to the middle of the maze. They also have plenty of activities to do once finished (stilts, tug of War, ring toss, Frisbee...to name a few).

Definitely wear a hat and sunscreen as you maybe in the maze longer than expected ? the facilities were great, lots of giant boardgames to play outside the maze, the hosts even provide sunscreen at each sheltered picnic table. There were wonderful gardens to walk around, I only wish we had been told on entry that they would be closing soon as we we hurried out by staff as soon as we left the maze as they "were closing up now". We would have liked to played the games and had a small rest after finishing the maze.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good family fun. <$50. I was surprised how hard it was, so that was a good challenge! There’s cheat gates to get out quickly, if you have had enough. The additional outdoor games, were a good idea. We did the maze, then had a break with an ice block and games, before trying the maze again. You can spend 2-3h here. Lovely staff too. Would recommend.

Definitely very tricky, it took us ages to finally make our way to the centre, but the sense of accomplishment made it worth it. If you are looking for something a bit different to do in Rotorua, you should check this out.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place was fantastic. We've been to other maze places before in NZ and always had fun, but a hedge maze is just a little more fun than a series of wooden walls. After we finally figured out the maze, we stayed and enjoyed the games, animals, and everything else. We had a great time and was the highlight of our trip. Okay, the kids prefer the luge, but they still had a great time at the maze. We had a harder time leaving the maze than we did the luge.
