Interesting tourist evening in a Maori village. It started with a introduction, than arrival of the maori canoo team and a walk to a rebuilt village for a welcoming ceremony. Therafter we had a traditional and simple dinner. As last we made a night walk in the surrounding Bush to see glow worms. Entertaining evening but a bit touristy.

What a wonderful time we had at Mitai-Maori-Village. Very interesting to learn about Maori-Culture. We booked the evening tour with dinner. The performances were great, the staff extremely friendly. And the dinner, a Hangi-buffet, was so delicious. We took a short forest walk there (part of the tour) where we could see glow worms in the dark. I highly recommend a visit to Mitai-Maori-Village. It will be one of your highlights.

One of the best experiences I have had so far. Our MC/Guide was fantastic! Full of knowledge and humour. The performance was thoroughly enjoyable with songs, stories and dance. The food was to die for and there was plenty to around- no one could say they were hungry by the time they left. My only fault was being able to hear the MC in the far corner table 21. The sound was hard to hear clearly at times. No reason to lose a star though.

A great experience and absolutely beautiful food. Mitai village is an excellent night, starting with introductions in the eating and bar area and processing onto a very informative tour around the grounds, including warriors in full dress floating in a warrior canoe down the stream in front of you in full voice, a brilliant show within a very detailed traditional village set up followed by an absolutely delicious Hangi meal including lamb, chicken, chocolate pudding and chocolate log for dessert and ending the night with a further tour around the tracks and freshwater spring, explaining the traditional significance of the trees and plants and viewing the huge population of glow worms.

We really enjoyed our evening at the Mitai Maori Village! It is very well organized and the surrounding is really nice. The show is great, as is the dinner (with surprisingly good lamb and deserts). The people are very friendly and it is a great way to learn more about Maori culture. We were really disappointed not to do the little trek after the dinner (but that was because the path had become dangerous following a storm the night before, so out of their control) Highly recommended.

Unforgettable immersion in the Maori culture. A visual arts display with beautifully choreographed danced ands songs, impressive haka. All accompanied with a commentary by the chief. The meal was delicious. Our guide, John, was extremely witty and greeted everyone in their own language (impressive!). He also knows the culture and history of the tribe in depth, answering all kind of questions. Not to be missed!

Tonight we shared a beautiful cultural experience and dinner with the family who run Mitai. The food was wholesome and tasty, and reminded me of our Maori neighbours growing up who’d invite us over for family bbq time… the show was spectacular with so much heart, soul, history and love. The family who run this experience are very hospitable and put a lot of effort in to make sure their guests are looked after.. we felt at home. We are very pleased to have purchased tickets and attend the show. Thank you
