★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a Ford Focus for 2 weeks - great little car. Picked up and delivered to Auckland CBD. Had to wait a little while when collecting the car as they only had 2 staff on and their were a lot of people returning or collecting cars. Anyway wasn't too bad.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The car was very reasonable price wise. Condition was less than average. The waiting time to collect was appalling. Staff were nice but seemed stressed, understaffed, poorly managed operation. Inadequate info on toll roads leading to stress for myself and wife and paying over 100 times more for the road toll than we needed to months later - they just politely told me it was my fault - too bad. Never again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ While the car was of decent condition, the service is completely unacceptable. I had a long wait to pick up the car and same issue for drop off. Please check with them and correct the fuel gauge before accepting the car. For a 0.3 tank difference, I was almost charged $50++ which amounts to the full tank cost!

I wish I could give zero stars for the customer service.
Don't make promises if you can't fulfill them.
1. Staff is rude specially the guy named Sachin (not sure) was rude from the very first second of the conversation until I told him off and refused to talk to him.
2. Called the office before booking and they promised they will provide overnight parking and I can come in at 8am next day to return the car keys. When we went there for pick up they said they can't provide any parking and asked for the proof of such commitment. WHO RECORDS THE PHONE CALLS BRO?
3. The Guy called someone (probably his manager) and told "the customer wants a free parking". NOOOO... This is what you promised the customer prior to the booking.
4. Offered extra few hours in exchange of the parking because I told them I am going to write a feedback about my experience.
5. Wasted 30-40 minutes arguing with me.
6. Returning the car was easy.
7. Car was clean and new.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ DO NOT USE APEX RENTALS IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR SAFETY (apexrentals.co.nz). I should have read the customer reviews before hiring a vehicle through this company. The SUV provided was not road worthy and I was asked to return the car mid-way through my travels around the North Island. Another side note, there is a lack of professionalism regarding how the company treats their customers. The branch managers and operations manager need to be schooled on how to communicate clearly. I would strongly suggest that the branch/operations managers take a customer service course or simply find a job that suits your competency level(s).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have rented cars from Apex quite a few time. Service is good. Staffs are nice. This time we also got an upgraded model for the car we booked. Till now we didn't feel any issue renting cars from Apex. The only reason why I would not give them 5 star is because of the price. I think there are other rental companies which offers cheaper price that Apex. It would better if they could lower their price a bit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you use Apex take out the $0 excess as they make you pay excess regardless of who is at fault (even if the other driver is fully insured and you have all their details). They should be more upfront about this i.e. not just the fine print. Most people would not think that would be a policy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a great service, offer and overall super experience, car. They provided ferry ride South to North island on the ferry when nobody else would. Made my drive and trip Chch to Auckland pure pleasure, no hiccups and really amazing. Thanks and will be back!
