★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bunch of crooks. Charged me $300 without telling me (found out on my credit card statement) and claimed I'd caused damage to the front bumper which I hadn't. Note that I'd paid a daily rate to reduce the excess anyway, but you can only reduce the excess to $300, not $0 like the rest of the world! Won't be hiring a car through them again, and I recommend everyone boycott Avis. Furthermore the car was already covered in chips and scrapes, and there was a massive coffee stain on the driver's seat.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Terrible branch and customer service. Slow service and charged extra. Car was checked by 2 agents on return and specifically told it was full and no refuelling required. Then charged for fuel 1 week later. Have contacted customer service and followed up, left voice mails and no response or resolution after 2 weeks. Avoid.

I was told that I would get a "free" tank of petrol, but I'll need to "fill it up" when I return it - so how was it free? [I have been renting with Avis for 10+ years so I know the drill - but calling it "free" is definitely misleading]
I spent a good 30 min waiting for the paperwork.
Emailed to complain but I got no response. Great customer service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Car worked however very bad price transparency. Never buy prepaid fuel if the car is rented for less than two day unless you want to drive more than 1000km in that days. The staff is really convincing in selling you that 127$ package by attracting you with wrong gasoline street prices. Not very customer oriented.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Have always used Avis when visiting New Zealand and have always had good service and clean well looked after vehicles. Staff have always been pleasant, helpful and efficient. Pricing has always been sensible. Not the cheapest but cars have always been in top condition. When a problem has arisen mostly when the car l had booked seemed to have gone missing they have always tried very hard to solve the problem quickly. I always check cars on pickup and take photographs. I will certainly book with Avis in the future.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Returned an amazingly fuel efficient Toyota Corolla with 5 minutes to spare and 2 lovely gentlemen helped me get organized and one waited till my ride came, even though they had locked up for the evening. Much appreciated.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was really bad at the begging because they literally "lost our car" so they have to ask for one in the airport Avis so we have to wait till they came (like 2 hours).
Other than that we were 7 and this car was really useful, we got all our suitcases on the trunk and have a lot of space.
If your driver license is not in English they wouldn't accept it, you have to have an oficial translation or do it on they web page that I post in the flyer.
They don't tell you on the web page but if you want to have more people driving the car with you the Drivers Licence is not enough, they have to actually see the other people so you can't just go to pick up the car.
