β β β β β After being put out of work because of an accident. My friend tried to arrange a payment holiday or even reduced payments for a period while his leg healed. Asb refused to help him and then started helping themselves to his benefit and rent money. After being an asb customer since primary school I will be closing my account in support. Banks should have more of a social conscience

β β β β β Worst experience...Not helpful at all! I went to that branch with my 15 year old daughter to open an ATM account for her. After i have explained to the teller our intentions, he went to see this Asian female accounts person, who was responsible in opening accounts.
I saw her briefly took a glance at us then carried on to whatever she was doing at that time.
However, she told the teller that we need to book for an appointment over the next 2 days. She wasn't attending to anyone just probably busy on her computer. But she was never bothered to come near us nor gave us little attention.
Thru walk in before, I have opened our (including with my other children) existing savings or ATM account with ASB but never recalled the process was a hassle until today.
From that moment, i strongly felt that we were discriminated.
Not probably with the color of our skin but with size of our wallets.
We may only be there for an ATM account opening, a transaction which was obviously NIL in terms of financial gain compared to the other Asian clients she' must have dealt with. Her attitude towards us was completely abhorrent. It doesn't represent the values the bank has promoted.
So much for the ASB customer service! this incident may not be pleasant experience for me, I still firmly believe that this doesn't reflect the bank as a whole. Hopefully, the bank could pay attention to some of their employees in sending them back to the classroom to learn the basics of real customer service.

β β β β β [Update] The ATM located outside seems to support Cash and Coin deposits. Handy feature.
This is the ASB ATM (Not bank) Google Maps listing. There are two ATM machines, one placed inside and outside. The internal ATM supports cash deposits and NFC, where-else the ATM outside only has the basic functions. The ATM are accessible 24 hours during the day, except for the internal ATM where it is only accessible during operating hours. Swipe your card for access during after hours. Spacious parking, would recommend.

β β β β β Because I am disabled and could not find a park closer to Takapuna ASB I was suggested I try ASB Wairau Park as it was very easy access for me.
So Wednesday morning I went to the above bank (Wairau Park) and was greeted by a very pleasant and smiling security guard who said I sit and wait till I'm called.
So was ushered in by another pleasant bank teller who introduced me to the wonderful Davy the the bank teller who was absolutely fabulous.
Thank you all for your wonderful service I am one happy customer.
