Welcome to our brand new and improved online store for The Bed Shop! Here you will find an extensive range of mattresses, beds and bedroom furniture.
Established in 2001, The Furniture Store & The Bed Shop remains locally owned and operated. Between us (the two owners) we have over 40 years experience in the industry, both overseas and here in New Zealand. Having worked in larger retail stores we understand that quite often once a transaction is made, customers are left with the feeling of a ‘couldn’t care less’ attitude from the retailer. It was because of this attitude we decided to focus on good ‘old fashioned’ service, with friendly and helpful staff to assist you at every one of our Auckland branches.
Our prices are very competitive, because over the years have built up good relationships with our suppliers to enable us to take advantage of discounts which we pass on to our customers. We have also decided that we would not advertise in print, radio or television, but rely on word of mouth from our customers. These savings have allowed us to keep our prices lower than most of our competitors, amounting to huge savings for our regular customers.
We are a very unique store, so if possible try to take a few minutes to visit us and experience not only the huge product range we offer, but also to enjoy some old fashioned service.

The Furniture Store (same business) is next door for more living room and dining room stuff. very good sushi very friendly, highly recommend

The quality and comfort of all their mattresses is great and they had some reasonably prices ones too. We ended up with a managers special mattress from the floor for an amazing price but in perfect condition, we bought the mattress at 3pm and the staff were great and organised delivery that day and we had our mattress on our bed within 2 hours! The guys even tightened up some screws on our preexisting frame. Highly recommend. (All their furniture looks fantastic too, good looking and good quality)

I walked in around 4pm on a Thursday afternoon just to have a look at some beds - we were helped by the owner who was not pushy at all, in fact he encouraged me to look elsewhere and come back even if I found something I liked! His wife was also lovely and very helpful. However, I found a bed right away and fell in love with it, and within about half an hour I was ready to purchase. The process of purchasing and organising delivery was quick and easy, and less than 24 hours after I walked into the store the bed was delivered to me - the delivery guys were also super nice and got it done in record time. The best customer service I've received in a long time, I won't look anywhere else for bedding needs!

Communication was faultless and delivery was as arranged and included set up of the slat bed and removal of all packaging. OUTSTANDING. This was part of there service and lucky it was as hubby broke his arm the night before it arrived so no way would we have been able to set up our new bedroom furniture in an upstairs room. Both the delivery men were professional respectful and had a good sense of humor. Highly recommended The Bed shop. A+

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went to look at purchasing a bed and was greeted by a friendly staff member, Cherise and she asked us what type we were looking for.
She showed us a few options and said to spend around 10 mins or more to try and was not pushy at all.
She usually works in the furniture dept, but today was helping us.
We eventually settled on a really comfortable bed and she said to allow approximately 1 month for the mattress to mould to our bodies.
We found her really easy to talk to and very knowledgeable, highly recommend this store
There was a slight issue just after receiving, the headboard received was not the one ordered, I phoned and spoke to murray who was very helpful, he asked if we could re package it and it would be swapped for a new one, it was a few days later that it was picked up but the new one as stated wasn't on the truck, I spoke to the driver who told me that he was told that this one was going to be used again, there was miscommunication between the bed manufacturer and the bed shop and definitely no communication to me.
I also noticed that the 2 drawers that we had weren't sanded leaving sharp edges and if not careful could easily cut your hand or fingers, when I raised this I was told that the same was to other drawers in the showroom also, not impressed as this is a quality concern.
Even though you don't see when drawers are closed doesn't mean that it should be left un sanded, a slight let down but getting used to a different mattress.
