Welcome to Auckland Tattoo Studio - the longest established tattoo studio in New Zealand. Started in 1970 by Merv O’Connor, it continues to thrive in its busy Ponsonby Road location.
We’re open Monday to Sunday from 10AM, and we’re happy to discuss your next tattoo. Walk ins are always welcome, your design or ours, stop by the shop and we'll sort you out.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Highly recommend. Braden understood my aim for the design, knew the obscure reference and worked with me to get what I wanted. As a designer, I appreciate when people handle the design process well.
The tattooing was an enjoyable experience. Minimal pain. Professional and a very clean environment. The after care service was exceptional too. Especially the second skin treatment. Almost no itchy phase like previous pieces.
Next time I’m back in Auckland, I’ll be booking in.
If you want a high quality tattoo, without the pretense, this is the studio!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Braden is the man!! I went in to see if I could get a tidy up on a small tattoo done elsewhere that's now closed down.
I found this place, as it was the only one open on Mondays and taking walk ins.. I was pretty nervous, the whole things quite new to me, but I'm so glad I came here, it was a great experience.
Braden was so nice and did an amazing job - exceeded my expectations Great atmosphere and chill guys.. Love my new look tattoo. Definitely recommend this place and these guys :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This tattoo shop is straight up quality and coolness. My husband and I got matching tattoos by Charlotte, she did an incredible job. She personalised them for us slightly but kept them the same like we wanted. She was very friendly, patient and calm (with me especially as my pain tollerance is low).
You feel comfortable as soon as you walk in the door here, they take care of you and you never feel out of place.
Thanks guys, it was a great experience and we WILL be back ❤✌

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When I turned up to a booking we both agreed to, Braden had booked someone else over my time slot and didn’t seem sorry at all when he told me.
I had to leave, made another appointment with him and on that day he cancelled on me. Keeping in mind I was supposed to get my tattoo on the day lockdown started. I had to contact him to re-book even thought I was the first person he should have contacted.
Honestly if he couldn’t do it he could’ve just told me instead of wasting my time.

He made sure I was happy with all aspects of the tattoo (placement, size, font, etc.). Place was clean, professional and well organized. All around-great experience...recommended by me.
