★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mutiara Malaysian in Ponsonby was an exceptional dining experience and one I’d been eagerly anticipating. During a night out along Ponsonby Rd with bar hopping, I finally got to visit this restaurant.
The ambiance was bustling with a diverse mix of patrons and in particular large groups across ethnicities and ages. Fortunately, we were able to be accommodated with table despite how busy they were and the staff for very warm, inviting and engaging.
We ordered dishes to share including tamarin prawns, hot and sour soup, Nadi goreng, Asam chicken curry with roti canai and beef red ang. Every dish was fragrant, flavoursome and beautifully spiced to our palate preferences. Highly recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Truly a remarkable meal. The Rendang I ordered was the best I’ve had since I last visited Kuala Lumpur. The waitress was very attentive and we were very impressed when Chef “Roy” came out to check if we’re enjoying our meal. Very nice ambience with large windows with views to the park on Ponsonby road. A great place to take your family if you really want to experience the true taste of Malaysia.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ OmG I forgot to take photos. I'll be back. Everything I ate was delicious. Lovely service and great chat with the chef and owner. Beef Rendang was soooo good but so was the tofu and vegetables and the battered chicken and the prawns.
Recommend trying Mutiara if you love Malaysian food you will love Mutiara

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had the most delicious ‘Assam Laksa’. Roy is a gifted cook of authentic Malaysian dishes. Any Malaysian recipes can be ordered by special request. Don’t hesitate to make your request known to Chef Roy. Highly recommended.
