About Autoport.nz
Autoport’s story began over 20 years ago when David Paviour (Founding Director), looking to change his car, couldn’t find a website in New Zealand that sold cars. Frustrated that he could not find such a website David partnered up with Hamish Lusk and AutoBase was born.
Knowing for AutoBase to be a successful, long term business it needed to drive a high volume of web traffic to its website. To achieve this David and Hamish formed a joint venture with a young tech entrepreneur named Sam Morgan creating Trade Me Motors. In 2012, Trade Me bought out AutoBase from David and Hamish. This lead to them starting up Autoport - a business dedicated to importing and selling cars at wholesale.
With online buying gaining in popularity David and Hamish decided it was time to disrupt the used car market and offer a totally unique buying experience, this time for the Consumer - much the same way Uber in transport and Airbnb in accommodation have.
In 2018 Autoport successfully launched its retail website – a marketplace for people to buy cars online. Without the unnecessary overhead costs of car yards, finance costs associated with holding stock and removing a number steps in the supply chain, Autoport is able to offer significant savings to the Consumer.
Today, Autoport has a global presence with offices in Japan, United Kingdom and New Zealand achieving its goal of – changing the way people buy cars.

When you are given the name of the ship that your vehicle is on the excitement enhances. The car when I collected it exceeded my expectations, the car was delivered like new. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In May 2021 I decided to purchase my next car through the Internet, while living in Australia. There was a website I liked a lot by the name of "autoport.nz". After searching through it for a while I found a beautiful Mercedes E250, equipped with all the bells and whistles one would expect from such a car. It had a very low (guaranteed) mileage. The price was more than reasonable. So, my wife and decided to go for it. I contacted Autoport.nz. A very helpful and nice person named Daniel contacted me and told me how to go about purchasing a car from them.
I paid the initial ten percent deposit of the car’s price. Then the car was checked thoroughly, first in Japan, after shipping it to NZ it was once again checked here. When my wife and I arrived in NZ in July 2021 the car was very nicely groomed and waiting for me, as agreed with Daniel and Natalie (another nice and supportive person of Autoport.nz).
So, all up, I like the car, I like the way I was treated as a customer and there’s nothing I could complain about. In fact, our younger daughter is currently in the process of getting three cars from Autoport.NZ, one for her husband, one for her daughter, and one for herself.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had my Subaru XV Hybrid delivered a couple of weeks ago, and I have been more than pleased with the vehicle. It was in excellent condition, low mileage and everything came out tops in an AA inspection. Though the current pandemic meant it was delayed later than expected both Daniel and Natalie kept me informed and allayed my concerns. This was my first time buying a car in this online fashion, I was quite apprehensive, but the care, professionalism, quality focused process and high standard of cars being imported meant I got a great buy. Would definitely recommend these guys and likely to do it again in future. Thanks Daniel and Natalie

Well, as of Friday I am now the extremely proud owner of an Evo X.
A massive thanks to Daniel and Natalie at Autoport.nz for helping me through the sourcing process, from finding the car in Japan to handing over the keys, the process was awesome and extremely streamlined. The car was incredibly well presented and Daniel went above and beyond to get the car in perfect shape ready for delivery. Highly recommend for anyone after a new pride and joy, more people need to take advantage of this service! You guys are awesome at what you do, keep up the great work.
Now it starts its life in New Zealand, 80k on the clock, ready for some incredible (and potentially rather quick) adventures.
