β β β β β Terrible taste of and around 1 hour waiting time for high tea even pre-booked. The waiter delivered wrong amount of dish. The meat in high tea tasted not fresh. And the dessert was a way sweet and the stomach felt disgusting after swallowing it.

β β β β β Please avoid the high tea, if you don't want to pay $65 +GST per person for a some microwaved dim sum and dry/ hard Chinese pastries placed on a tier stand. Not only did it tasted bad, the amount of food was so small that my partner and I left hungry (I am not a big eater either).
The place was completely empty at the time and there was one waiter serving, and he was also the one microwaving the food at the back kitchen (we could hear the beeping sound as it was so quiet). There was no chef working, only the sole waiter.
Please do not waste your money here, I would recommend Cordis, Hilton or Hyatt for a lovely high tea in Auckland. This will be my first and last time coming to The Jockey Club. I can't imagine all the 5 star reviews, I assume that they are all sponsored.

β β β β β Originally came here with guests due to the popularity from, red flag #1 influencers on Instagram. I can conclude that this was probably the most underwhelming high tea experience one could imagine. The only thing that looked a little decent was the venue itself but it all goes downhill from there.
Red flag #2 As you enter the venue, there is no one inside and you had to wander all the way to the kitchen where there is only one staff employed to handle both the kitchen and the service.
Red flag #3 What I found concerning was I could hear and see things being put through the microwave in the kitchen, as we were the only guests onsite.
Red flag #4 certainly the items looks presentable on the high tea but that's as far as it got, the food was average, severely lacking flavor and reminds me of dim sum for a $65 excluding gst high tea. I was embarrassed for taking my guests here.
This is my first and last experience I will be having here, better experiences to be had elsewhere.

You cannot believe how much detail is in their dishβ¦ the most impressive was the mushroom stir fried with black truffle - I was wondering how the mushroom could be so much flavored but still holds its texture. Turns out it was steamed with chicken soup for 8 hours!! The thinly sliced tofu was less than 1mm thick and it brings back my memorable trip to Yangzhou and the locals are so fuzzy about cutting skills. A 10/10 experience.
