Disgustingly appalling dishonest and unprofessional. Very disappointed in this service. The car i picked up was very dirty and i put a $500 deposit down as a bond from my eftpos card as i didnt have a credit card and when i got to the car rental to return the car in 100% same order they were trying to refund ny bond back onto my card. I was waiting over half an hour for the team to get there act together to refund my bond in full but they failed to as they couldnt find the correct card to process the refund onto my eftpos card. i had to get to the airport and the lady said to email my account details to them so they can deposit funds i did this straight away and left. i have sent 3x emails since and i have had no reply and no bond refunded. dont use this unprofessional, untrustworthy company. i will take this further, im glad i recorded the whole thing on my phone.

Awful awful awful. Rude, unhelpful staff that gave us a terrible car - broken stereo, broker AC, broken rear wiper and a clutch that started slipping as soon as you started to go uphill. We lost 3 days of our trip as the rubbish car broke down on the Haast Pass and we had to negotiate a replacement. We were a days drive from the nearest Quality Cars office and they refused to pay for a replacement from another company, or for a local garage to fix the car, so were stranded until they could bother to send their mechanic to us.They promised to pay for our accommodation and refund the 3 lost days worth of car hire, but then never paid up. I've never been more tempted to send someone a poo in the post. Do not use this company.

One of worst customer experience ever! The car that I booked was not available when I arrived. They made me pay $13 more per day for a bigger car that I didn’t need! The car was old, stinky and the air cond was not working...unbelievable. Finally, they asked for an extra $75 when we drop off the car because we arrived at 5pm instead of 4pm...PLEASE AVOID!!

We rented a car for 2 days. When we called the information we were assured that they can pick us up in the city centre and bring us back there. The guy that picked us up was very nice and friendly and he also gave us the car which was also very recommendable. But when we came back after 2 days, there was an Indian woman that was probably the unfriendliest person we met on our new Zealand trip. She said she won't drive us to the city centre because we only rented the car for two days. We told her that we already phoned with someone about this and they said and also the guy that picked us up that we will be driven back to the city centre. But she just said no und brought us to the airport. So here we are and now we have to buy 18$ each for the Skybus to get to the city centre. Shame on this employee never met someone so unfriendly ....

Just very unfriendly staff, we asked to get dropped off at the city center when booked the car they said it's fine and that it is no problem but in the end the just drove us to the airport after we returned the car, and we had to pay 36$ to get back to the city centre. The car was okay just a normal car without any extras but some of the interior plastic parts were broken and the seats a bit dirty. Don't go there if you expect friendly and helpful service.

We’ve rented a car at Quality cars one year ago and promised to give a comment - so here it is and sorry for the delay! :) We’ve started our around-the-world-trip in New Zealand and first we were thinking of buying a bicycle, but after a lot of research we’ve noticed that New Zealand has so much to see - can’t visit all the beautiful places without a car! So we’ve went to the office near the airport in personal to take a look at the car rental company. The staff was really nice and we felt comfortable. So we’ve rented a Toyota Raum. The price for the 2 months was very fair compared to other car rentals and matched perfectly to our backpacker travel budget! Extending the rental period per telephone for a couple more days wasn’t a problem at all. Furthermore the yearly general car check was during our rental time - but wasn’t a problem for us. We’ve just met at the office, waited 30 minutes and even got some new tires for the rest of our trip. All in all the car, the price & the communication was really good! If your a traveler who wants to explore New Zealand in a car and your flexible in sleeping in a tent or in a hostel during your travel - we would definitely recommend to check out Quality Cars and take a look at their car range!

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! Dishonest and dangerous. We had a terrible experience with "Quality car rentals". The car they gave us was very old and breaks were not working properly. We had an accident with it. We paid extra to have the full insurance but when we called them they said they couldn't help and we had to go back to Auckland by our means to get another one (which was of course way more pricey that the one we had rent). They also said we would have to pay for towing and fixing the other one. After being let down with no solution, long story short, we decided to go to a mechanics that fixed the car and keep on with our trip. According to them, this "invalidated" the insurance for the rest of the trip, which is a joke as we paid it daily... After other problems that I won't detail here, we also had to fight to get our $500 bound back. They first said that it would be done in the day, and then that it didn't work because our account was not from NZ. Lucky us it actually was so after calling them everyday for 5 days, they finally refunded us. I assume that they have stolen a lot of money from people using this technique so please be aware.

BE CAREFUL WITH THIS GUYS. SCAM ALERT!!!! Because of the terrible reviews of “Quality Car Rentals Limited “ they have changed the name on Google for “Quality Rent A Car”, ir even “Quality Rentals”, but check it out: all of them are in the exactly the SAME ADDRESS!!! They are only trying to deceive you!!!! Be alert!!! They have been listed on the Commerce Commission for their illegal acts. Apart of the fact that they are trying to disguise their bad reputation changing their name here, please note that their cars are in terrible conditions. I almost had a very bad accident because the tire blew up in the middle of a motor. When I went to the workshop, the guy said that it was illegal in New Zealand to drive cars with such terrible tires. So I had to replace FOUR TIRES. I had paid full insurance for the car, but still, they charged my credit card for the repair, and they will ignore you, because they have your credit card number, so they do whatever they want. BE CAREFUL!!! besides your money, your life is in danger with this company, which ironically has “Quality” only on the name.
