Relaxed vibe.
Happy and chill hosts.
Every mouthful was savoured.
Explosions of flavour as well as subtle deliciousness.
The goal, while we are staying in Wellington this week, was to take birthday time daughter to a restaurant to try some fancy food.
We achieved our goal!
The food was indeed fancy aaaand epicly tasty.
Two-three meals recommended per adult, small side plates, we ordered a bunch and shared everything.
Have experienced some amazing five star meals, before, and this was the best dinner I've eaten, ever!
Salad and the stir-fry greens - yuuuum.
Tofu was soooo gooood. (Like.. the tofu was epic!)
Mushrooms - amaazing.
Everything was incredible.
Eggplant special MmmMmmm.
This chef knows how to cook!
Beautiful quality, fresh ingredients, as well, everything is completely gluten free!
Grateful to enjoy dinner, here, tonight - a last minute decision - called around 6.45pm and made the booking, thankfully they had space for us around 7.30pm - good luck for us our friend heard about it via word of mouth -
Worth waiting if you are making a last minute booking - or make a booking in advance to make sure you get a table.
Oh and children's meals come in a cardboard ship! - (complete with a few candles so we could sing a wee song) - we did order plenty off the main menu for us all to share the fancy food - as - that was the aim! - birthday time nearly nine year old loved tasting some of everything, too - she loved it just as much as we did!
A beautiful treat for us all.
We will remember this night for a long time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Some things were delicious with really interesting flavours, others were very average and expensive. Probably a better menu for meat eaters. Rice balls and mushrooms were delicious. Loaded fries and popcorn tofu were disappointing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place for coeliac as they are 100% gluten free. The rice balls and bambam chicken were delicious! Not sure if it’s normal, but it took a long time for us to be served and the wait between dishes was quite long. Also seemed a bit expensive for portion sizes but otherwise a nice place. The dishes are designed to be shared and come out as they are ready, it was recommended that you order 2-3 dishes per person.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kid friendly. A bit of a shame they were short staffed out the front. Missed out on the Nori with the duck, I reckon some rice to accompany the pork belly would be tops ???. Decent wine menu as well. Some good drops on there

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tried for the first time. Thought it was really great ! We had fried rice balls (amazing balls), karaage chicken , and both items from the sea: fried salmon and fish croquettes.
We also tried smashed pavlova dessert.
Everything was delicious ! In our rating, rice balls and fish croquettes were absolute favorites! Very crispy, delicious dipping sauce.
Karaage chicken came second !
Fried salmon was a very interesting combination! Salmon in general is our fav item on the menu but none of us were fan on fried salmon. However, I want to specify that there was nothing wrong with the taste or presentation of the dish ! Check the pic! It looked great! It was not our fav type of prep for the salmon as we prefer raw or cold smoked. I encourage you to try and make your own opinion.
The staff was very friendly and attentive.
This place also has a garden.
I would rate this place as an awesome and chill spot to have a casual dinner! They also play a live music there occasionally, so why not to try ?!
