★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a fantastic meal here. The service was great, the food faultless, and I was even introduced to a new alcoholic spirit I've never tried before (Applejack whiskey).
We went for the 7-course tasting menu and left it to the kitchen to decide our dining fates, and were extremely happy we did.
Downstairs is cosy and intimate, upstairs is more spacious, light and open.
On the pricey side, but we did have cocktails (hence the whiskey discovery), wine and 7 courses at close to $300 for the two of us.
Highly recommend, and we'll certainly be back.

Amok wants you to feel the hospitality of being in their home- and they accomplished this with every aspect of the meal. Like visiting a friend, but one that can exquisitely cook and has a phenomenal wine cellar and liquor selection!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow - what an amazing dinner at Amok. We nabbed a table later in the evening and were treated so well by the serving staff who were attentive and knowledgeable. We had conversations with our lovely waiter about Australian nuts to mushroom foraging as he kept us watered and checked in on the food. We ordered only the vegetarian dishes this time but would 100% head back again, this time for the set menu to sample even more of what Amok has to offer. Highly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Everything from start to finish was superb! Incredible service with wonderful guidance from the front of house team with both drinks and food. The set menu hit all the spots and we were left wanting for nothing. Food had delicate flavours and precise execution and it’s been a long time since I’ve enjoyed a dining experience like this and I’m super excited to return. Thanks guys!

my friends and i gathered for what we thought would be an exciting dining experience. the daily specials were shared and so a few of us opted for them only to be told shortly afterwards that our table couldn't order so many (!!!) as they only had a limited amount for the evening. our server seemed to be getting the blunt of this from the kitchen. as a paying customer, we simply wanted to know why this was the case and since that point the service and hospitality went straight out the window even though we agreed to reduce our specials request.
the food delivery was extremely staggered, the last 2 plates came out as an after-thought about 30 mins after the main pasta dishes. the specials were priced double what was expected on the bill as it was not communicated at the start. the positive side of the story, beyond great company of friends is that all of the dishes were very tasty. i would not recommend if you want to feel like a valued customer.

The team who clearly love what they do, the relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere, and the astonishing “utterly new” flavour and ingredient combinations have me coming back with joy. Settle in, this place is a treat!
