★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Because of the customer service, Bivouac is by far the best outdoor store in NZ. Their staff actually use the products they sell so they can clearly explain options and pros/cons of different products based on your needs. When helping you find hiking boots they take the time to measure your feet and recommend boots based on your foot size/shape. Highly recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Expect to receive nasty comments from the staff while browsing their overpriced selection. They're particularly rude and obnoxious toward asians. It's also kind of dumb, when customer experience is key to word of mouth marketing. returning customers and on the spot purchases.
AND it's not just me. Look at some of the other reviews. A common theme is bad customer service. The staff are no good. I shop regularly, and I've never dealt with such mean and nasty staff ever.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I would like to commend Emily for helping us choose the right equipment for our upcoming tramping. She greeted us with a smile and had been very patient to us. We actually just plan to browse some outdoor stuff but ended up buying an Osprey backpack and a Scarpa boots. Kudos to the team for having a comfortable experience in Bivouac Newmarket branch. Will definitely comeback soon. ??
