β β β β β What a view of the Remarkables and the lake. About 30 minutes walk to Queenstown on the walking track along lake front.
Very spacious 3 bedrooms apartment. Our unit locates very close to busy Frankton road, one of the bedrooms could easily hear all the road traffic noise.
Apartment is a bit dated, especially in the kitchen but 2 bathrooms seems to be renovated.
A bedside cabinet is missing in one of the bedrooms and the table lamp just sit on the floor. Besides, dishwash powder dispenser is broken, we couldn't use the dishwasher on the first night. Luckily, it was fixed on the next day.
Laundry facilities are also available in the unit.

β β β β β It pains to me to have to write a review like this, however we were not left with much choice. It's a pity, as looking at all the other rooms available, BreakFree appears to be a lovely place to stay. Lovely, with the exception of Studio 7A. The room felt extremely old, outdated, neglected; I felt like I was living in 1980, which appeared to be the last time the place was cleaned.
The bed-sheets comprised of a few old bits of linen, and a throw that could barely be described as being a duvet. The sheets themselves were incredibly itchy; sleeping was definitely a struggle.
Although we failed to get photos, tiles in the bathroom were broken, the ceiling split, and fans in this same room were absolutely clogged with dust. It is no longer a mystery as to why we developed illness throughout our stay.
General care for attendants of the studio seemed low, with absolutely no checks from neither owners nor staff with respect to the status of our stay. Not surprisingly enough, I had to pop in myself to grab more supplies, which a staff member grabbed from what appeared to be a rather unsanitary storage facility, towels draping onto the floor.
It's a shame, as the location appeared to be so nice. Maybe rethink your booking if you are staying within a studio. Considering that the price of the accommodation was around a quarter of our entire NZ holiday cost, it was an absolute rip-off.
I would not stay here again ,even if it were free.

β β β β β Really neat place. Everything we needed for a few days stay. Really nice view. Bit steep and narrow when it comes to parking, but OK if you take it easy. Was no Internet due to antenna failure, so that was a bummer. There also seem to be a problem with the water and the drains (no. 23). Brown tint to the water and slow drain from kitchen sink and shower. Hopefully they'll fix this asap.

β β β β β A bit hard to get down to the rooms but on a hill so expected. Rooms are clean enough, but very dated. No heating so very cold in winter, needed 2 oil heaters running 24/7, and it was still only just warm enough.
Our king bed was 2 singles which is usually no issue, but there was no topper so we found ourselves rolling into the crack each night.
Parking is a bit of an issue as there is not enough for all apartments, unless double parking or walking a distance up hill.

β β β β β Stunning views across the lake, spacious living area and well appointed kitchen - we cooked a few times and there were all the pots, pans and utensils you would need. We were also kindly upgraded to a 3 bedroom apartment. The development is probably 15-20 years old so don't go expecting perfection - I thought it was good value for money in Queenstown though. Note: Parking area below the apartment is quite low so doesn't work if you have a roof box or a higher vehicle.
