Painfully slow check in? Painfully?!!? Rooms clean, parking good. Can be difficult to get onto the main road.

Blown away by our view and apartment! Rachael deserves a pay rise, making our stay special from the moment we walked in the door. We have already decided that we will most definitely be coming back!

I have emailed to contact management regarding our stay but since have had no response unfortunately I have had to write this. Our stay started off a little disappointing when the room and view was nothing like the photo on booking.com and the view was completely blocked by scaffolding. On the last day before our departure, a random person was given our key card and entered our room without notice. I was both extremely shocked and horrified over this as I could have been getting dressed when this random person (not even staff member) walked in. I called reception and they said they were aware of this mistake, but I explained how dangerous this could have been and I was disappointed with the apology I received. I received no compensation for this terrible terrible mistake and it has now left me worried to stay at hotels again. Not to mention we waited til the last night of our stay to go to the restaurant, but they were only serving bar food which was also extremely disappointing. Would not return considering the circumstances and how things were handled.

The views are stunning from the penthouse room, however the faults we had were the following; downstairs dryer didn’t work very well. Upstairs you couldn’t use washing machine and dryer at the same time. The washing machine upstairs leaked through carpet and the water started working itself down the stairs. The hot water took 10 minutes to heat up. When we booked there were no mention of construction happening onsite. The car parking was taken up by contractors and their supplies. In terms of how much money we paid we expected 5 star services but that did not happen. Parking was not easy to access as many car parks have been earmarked for contractors along with building supplies. This limited spaces for paying customers. We booked penthouse and another room, the second room had no outdoor patio access, no half balcony and no views. It was also allocated down on the first level away from our family. My bed slanted to one side, I thought it was the way the bed was. On checking the other side we found that the bed had a detached leg. Also we only had one little bin and no bin in the bathroom. No couches or space for relaxing. No washing machine or dryer access. No micro wave access in a room we stayed for 7 days.Thankfully we had the penthouse but that meant taking everything upstairs to wash. I’m not keen on the main room, then seperate rooms like 100, 100a and 100b rooms. Its very uncomfortable knowing that people were right there. .No one checked on us if we were satisfied with our rooms or the facility.

Comfortable stay and was great to get free membership to score additional discounts at time of booking. Parking is underground and rather tight, really tests your skills if you have long car or big SUV. Slight disappointment that room was not serviced due on 2nd Jan. Restaurant had good views across Lake whakatipu but not any vegetarian options, so we skipped.

Honestly have to say probably the best hotel I’ve had the pleasure of staying in. Hotel staff were accommodating, polite, considerate. Everything We could have asked for. Rachel and the team looked after us and made sure our stay was perfect. Rachel is a gem and a wonderful host, we will make sure to spread the word about the hotel. Definitely planning to be back asap.

Our #1 Favourite Hotel in Queenstown! 7 Night Stay We have stayed at a number of hotels in Queenstown and The Oaks Shores Resort is our top favourite. The lake view rooms at The Oaks are perfectly positioned to offer the best view in the whole of Queenstown. Watching the clouds and lake colours change every day is so special and sunrises and sunsets are magical. We stayed 7 nights in a newly renovated Loft Lake View room on Level 5 and it was amazing! + The lake view of the Remarkables is beautiful + The beds & sheets are super comfortable + There is a washer/dryer in the room which is so convenient + Kitchen had everything we needed to cook, a microwave + an oven + a dishwasher + Two heaters make the room really warm & snug + Huge balcony Thank you so much to Kathryn, Rachel & all of the friendly reception staff who made our stay extra special this year. You are amazing and we hope to visit again next year! :-)

It's a fine hotel if you're not too fussed about the details, perhaps going walking and want somewhere cheap but comfy to crash. Good price but quite average. Some of the staff don't seem to care about how pleasant your stay was. They didn't ask when we checked-out. The reception area is beautiful, and so are the views from the rooms/balconies. Found it confusing that they're adding another block of rooms but the 10th floor corridor is left dingy-looking. By the way, the escalator will close on you, don't try to stop it. It was a big room with a nice view and a TV in view of the bed, wardrobe and draws, small kitchen top with kettle, crockery and toaster. The bed was comfy and bathroom looked nice. However, the walls are paper thin, so we could hear everyone waiting for the elevator. The room itself is quite dark and could be better lit. The shower door clunked and the pipes would bang when you turned the tap off. They don't provide conditioner and there was only one bin in the bathroom. The only tea they had in the room was peppermint, and only 1 type of coffee, no milk. They hadn't swept the balcony and there weren't any outdoor chairs.
