I have been going here for the past few years and only once i had wrong appointment reminder, but when I called them, they said it was sent in error in their system. I always received appointment letter and correct reminders.

BreastScreenΒ AucklandΒ has now moved to its lovely new premises atΒ 12 St Marks Road, and there is parking available for patients. Please see the instructions and map below to help you find where to park your car. Use the car park entrance that comes offΒ Macmurray Road, before the entrance to the old BreastScreen building. Park on the grey cobbled stones, in the available car parks as shown below. Once you have parked your car, head down the path to Robert Hall Ave and make your way around the building until to you come to the main entrance on the corner of Robert Hall and St Marks road. The main entrance is clearly sign posted as 12 St Marks and is the building closest to the motorway.

I had an amazing check up/ breastscreening experience. All the staff are friendly. They explain every process and makes you feel as comfortable as possible. Highly recommended.

I was an emotional wreck leading up to my first appointment two years ago and I could hardly get myself to the appointment. I was taken care of so kindly by everyone and although it's a scary thing to face, the appointment itself is actually the easiest part of it. Two years on and I'm visiting again today.

They have moved to new premises, very fancy but unfortunately can't be said about the service. Firstly, I didn't receive the initial letter in the mail however I received the text. If it wasn't for the text I wouldn't have known I had a booking, good thing my phone number hasn't changed. Secondly, when I arrived at reception, at first, I was told they couldn't find my appointment and 10 mins later they did find it. And lastly, the person who took my mammogram made the whole experience a lot worse. This is the second time I've had this person and she's been the same both times. This time round I asked for her name. Happens to be Shahla Pajoutan. She has no personality, it's like you are dealing with a robot. She is gets extremely irritated, she rushes you, her tone is unpleasant. The first thing she says when I get in the room is "take your robe off" no hi nothing. When I slightly hesitated she said "what's wrong with you, this is not your first mammogram". First or not, there is a level of nervousness, shyness etc. Not everyone is the same. I felt belittled. Terrible experience both times.

Requested to attend an appointment by Breastscreen, time unsuitable so new one established. Attended at agreed time only to be told I was not able to have one because I had seen some one privately. Would suggest Breastscreen check the processes around this as it was an appointment that could have gone to someone else and avoided hassle for me. If there is a so called protocol in place about who is eligible then this should be determined in advance of making an appointment. All the relevant information about my visit to a private privider was in their system but clear nobody had actually checked it. In an important screening service like this a much higher level of discernment is required given they are also responsible for ensuring results are processed without error.

Chaotic booking process. They had a staffing problem November 2017 as there is a national shortage of Radiographers. I had booked well before but agreed to change to January 2018. I received no letter confirming this and thought I had made the appointment for 17 January but got a text message reminding me my appointment was a week earlier on 10 January. I was luckily still able to go and the receptionist was exceptional and the Radiograper was very good, so that made up for their muddled call centre and booking people who seem to be separate.

I had an appointment this morning (26 January 2021) at St Marks Road. The Receptionist was fine, but the Radiographer was indifferent - firstly she could barely lift her head out of her file. The first breast (left) was done and I endured the most painful squash of the plate that I have ever had. I actually screamed and wanted to leave. I have had many mammograms over the years so I know that they can be uncomfortable, but not excruciating. There was no small increments of lowering the plate down. Just one splat down. She said that she did that as the records show how much pressure I could take. She went on to do the other breast, but with small increments, as she should have done in the first place. Unfortunately I did not get her name, but I'm sure that Breast Screen records will know who she is. Her bedside manner was pretty well non existent. This particular Radiographer is Not Recommended at all.
