Always well cared for. This has been over a period of 10+ years. A particular thanks to Carmen Ross- breasr physician , stan Governor- surgeon who is wise, caring and capable person., Priyanka the radiograher you make a mammogram less uncomfortable. Thanks to all the other staff nurses snd receptionists.

They have no respect for the customers time. I have been a patient for many many years and the level of service has got worse. The last time I went I had to ask the receptionist what was happening after I had been waiting 30 minutes only to be told the doctor was running late and -would be at least another 30 minutes. No apology. If I hadn't asked she wouldn't have told me. This a totally unacceptable level of service.in a private clinic

My experience with Stan Govender and team at st marks breast centre has been A+++++ I believe I have received the best care I possibly could of got. Extremely informative, supportive and professional throughout a scary time. I cannot thank them all enough.

Where to start? A shocking experience, and thankfully, to be clear, I have NOT proceeded with surgery under this clinic. So this is an 'initial service' experience review. Not a review of any clinicians who may work at St Mark's. I hope however that they get to see this and realise what their patients are going through before even meeting them - if they meet them or like me, run away before getting to that point. I attempted to make an appointment with Dr. Locke, who is listed as operating from here, as well as under the public health system. First of all, I was effectively told, yes she does do private work, but she really only prefers to take care of cancer patients only. Then, as my enquiry got passed around various receptionists, no one could quite decide which days she prefers to do the initial private consultation. I almost booked leave from work, based on the incorrect information I first received from one of the receptionists. Then, no one called me back as promised - I followed up and spoke to someone who did manage to find me a slot, effectively this receptionist asked me to pour my heart out to Dr. Locke - explaining why I thought she should consider me a worthy patient (I do not have cancer). This heartfelt email was apparently passed on to the surgeon who approved my initial consultation. Then I got another call, from someone else - asking me to call them to confirm that I wanted the appointment that had been made for me. At this point, I was on the verge of booking accomodation, as I had assumed the initial consult was all a done deal. Then I have a phone call with the first receptionist, who flat out refuses to confirm the appointment by phone. Even though I'd spent half an hour or so, on the phone on a different day to another receptionist, explaining everything. Then I get an email asking me to call to confirm. At this point, I send them the following email in reply (see below). So, good luck! Maybe all the incompetence and poor patient care I received was just bad luck. But I had major surgery recently and so I've learnt that such poor coordination is not a good sign. Here's my final reply email: Thanks Briar, but no thank you, I’d like to cancel this appointment. I’m afraid my experience with you all has been pretty dire, with terrible communication between your team, non-cooperation and uncoordinated communication with me, the client. I’ve found it quite shocking, to be honest. Especially with the revenue involved in this private clinic. I’m sure Dr. Locke is amazing but nothing in my experience so far bodes well for a good surgical outcome, which relies on a solid team effort. I’ve lost confidence in moving forward with St Mark’s at this time. I hope some lessons can be learned.

This has to be one of the best medical places I have been to. You never sit on the waiting room long and it is a very attractive waiting room. No bare or sterile style here. The staff are amazing. They are friendly, warm, very human and extremely professional. They know everyone who goes there is actually terrified and do their utmost to be informative and thorough. I was recalled and was twice as terrified but the reason was well explained and on the conservative side which is always good. The report was very detailed and prompt with a nice human comment at the end. Since I am over 70 and have to pay anyway, you may as well pay for the best.

Dr Stan Govender is a master. From the first appointment to the last … wonderful and caring in every way. St Marks Breast Centre makes one feel welcome the minute you step through the door. All the staff and nurses are there just for you. When you have an appointment with Dr Govender it’s not just him you see: it’s his entire team … note 2.5 hours in the diary for that first appointment. Dr Govender has really changed my life and l will be forever grateful. If it’s perfection you are striving for, it’s here. Thanks to all of you at St Marks. ❀️

It’s not the easiest of times to find a lump in your breast and worry what’s going on but from the time I entered your building I felt relaxed and in expert caring hands From the ladies on reception, the lovely gentle lady who gave me my mammogram and to Doctor Carmen for her friendly intuitive caring bedside manner and the down to earth nurse helping her - I left feeling so happy :) Big shout out to Carmen - I love her passion and communication style that just can’t be easily replicated because Carmen is who she is Not only due to her natural nature but her delicate handling of me and the procedures administered - I didn’t feel any pain - honestly Carmen is a gift to this world Thank you all so much!!!

From when you present to the lovely ladies at reception to when the imaging is done,, your team exceeds expectations in terms of communication, kindness and bedside manner.The equipment is cutting edge. Everyone is so kind reassuring and very friendly. It can be an anxious thing having a mammogram or an ultrasound. This team is superlative. And I highly recommend them, they are worth the money. Theyhave been looking after me for the past three years. The waiting room is more like a comfortable living room and all stops are pulled out to make you feel at ease. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
