In April 2011 Paul Croucher and Nigel Gregory from award-winning Croucher Brewing decided it was time for Rotorua to have its very own craft beer pub. After 6 weeks of graft we opened BREW, home to the full range of Croucher Brewing beers on tap, as well as bringing the best other New Zealand craft beers to town. From humble beginnings, BREW has grown into one of Rotorua's busiest eateries.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is more a bar than a restaurant and has drunk patrons wandering past our tables without masks or social distancing. I had the pork belly on potato salad. The pork crackle was chewy luke warm and tough, the potatoes in the potato salad were hard. My daughter had the dumplings and they were like rubber.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very disappointed with Brew. The beer was nice but the service was sorely lacking. About 15 mins after ordering we were advised that one of the mains wasn’t available, so we reordered. Ten minutes later we were told another main wasn’t available, and we had to reorder again. The mains came out eventually and were fine, not amazing. Then we ordered dessert and coffee, the coffee arrived and was drunk but the desserts took another half hour to arrive. Not sure if they were short staffed or what but the food wasn’t worth the wait time or the mucking around with the menu. Wish we had gone somewhere else.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Decent Croucher beer and cider, along with some guest taps. Tasting tracks are great, just the right size. Hop Burger was great, tasty chunky real beef pattie. Friendly service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place has the best service i have ever come across in a pub/restaurant. Went to dinner with very young kids and we were actually wondering if they would let us in with such young kids. Not only did they let us in but the staff went off and printed a couple of pictures off their computer and came out with colouring pencils so the kids had something to do.
I wasn't sure which hazy was better off the beer menu so the waitress came out with 2 little tasting glasses of each hazy so I could find out which one I liked best.
Ordered drinks then food and when they came out it was absolutely sublime.
This is a place thay not only knows how to serve great food but their staff also know how to really make their customers feel welcome and appreciated.
Thank you to all the staff at BREW. Next time we are in Rotorua we will definitely be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not surprisingly they have a great beer selection here and you can do tasting plates with any of their tap beers. They also were the only ones where you could buy the Pink & White Geothermal Gin buy the bottle. Food was OK and decent sized portions. Definitely worth a visit for their drinks.
