★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So I visited Whanganui yesterday and went to an event at Bula Bure.
Bula Bure was an incredible venue and space. This cafe apparently hosts a daycare on Monday, a market on Friday. Has a small theatre, large outdoor play area, pool table, bar and huge cafe area.
The food was excellent, the portions large and the staff very welcoming and facilitating, helping me out to make a speech a moderate number of people and allowing us to put 3 or 4 tables together without fuss.
Highly recommend checking out Bula Bure.

The tables outside are really cool to look at with bits inside the resin design and the outdoor area is a vast playground for kids to play and explore while parents can watch and eat. Great place for parties or get togethers with kids.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great big place for children to play, and staff were lovely and just doing their best. Unfortunately waited 50 minutes for a bowl of fries, eventually said don’t worry about them as I had to leave and then still brought them out after I asked for them not to be. Reminded about fries almost every 10 minutes and was told they will only be 10 more minutes, 10 more minutes. Such a shame, kitchen wait times and order of food needs some improvement. Other than that the staff were lovely and really spacious place for families.
