★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a great lunch there on Saturday. I had the salmon and my partner had the prawn linguine. Both meals were so yummy! The salmon was super fresh and delicious, our meal came really quickly. The staff were lovely and very friendly. I'm allergic to eggs and the waitress was very nice and attentive to this detail. Thanks for a great meal! Would certainly return.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fabulous chicken burger and fries well priced and thank goodness I had someone with me to pass half the food over to. Very generous portion size. Other meals purchase were whitebait and salad and a crispy coated fish burger. Sitting outside looking over the sea. Very picturesque setting

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely incredible!! Got the 5 plates for $78 and everything was great. Probably one of the best food experiences I’ve ever had. The staff were lovely and friendly, as well as delicious cocktails. Worth every penny. Would recommend to anyone! :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a great lunch. The seafood chowder was really nice and the day was quite cold so it was nice. The duck was also really nice. Next time we are going to have the seafood platter to share. Would recommend to go and try. As we are not big eaters perhaps there could be a opinion for a smaller meal like to seafood chowder. Staff very friendly and helpful

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited on a Sunday. Not too busy thanks to covid. However prices are always exorbitant at akaroa. Be prepared to spend a decent amount for an average food. Taste and quantity.
We had fish burger 27.5$, fish and chips 34.5$, chips 10$, 3 mocktails 10$ each, Coffee x2 6$ each, salmon bruschetta 18.5$, almond cake 7$, Margarita pizza 25$. Overall bill 200$ which is way too much for the quantity of food and quality.
But then this is akaroa…

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 4/5. Portion size was quite small with the lamb. The food all in all was of high standard and tasted delicious. Maybe due to this i wanted more. I also felt like we were put right next to the bar on new years eve, even though I had stated in my booking I had kids. Would have been much nicer if we had been but out in the restaurant area where there were many empty seats. The lovely white lady made the experience so much better though. And she was attentive to our needs and seemed to be running around and keeping the whole place running! I would like to thank her for amazing service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Garlic Bread was awesome and the array of Tapas was very nice. The creme brulee was very nice but the Affagato was not as described in the menu, albeit nice. A bit disappointed in the fact they started packing up around us on the foreshore and the ambience went from a nice peaceful evening to a flood lit area, meanwhile the inside was very busy - there was no reason for them to do that.They also ran out of cutlery and served soup spoons for desert spoons. They also mucked up the account and our $89 Tab became a $200 Tab - so check your Tabs ? If there were no issues they would have been up to a 4 or 5 depending overall visit. Sadly a lot of things overshadowed the food.
