★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very special space. Don't expect just another souvenir store. This is art done well, done locally and done bright, cheerful, and fun. Clothing, home accessories, kiwiana, jewellery, something for everyone. Worth the drive to Akaroa just to come to Lava.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful little shop with New Zealand designed goods. Popped in for a few souvenirs and had a lovely chat with the woman working. I love the jewelry I bought and would recommend this over the other trinket shops - much more unique and memorable!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful wee shop with a unique range of art work and gifts. The lady (owner?) was very friendly and keen for a yarn and the prices were more than reasonable! Clearly a lot of love and effort went into choosing the things in Lava, pop in next time you visit Akaroa and support local ❤️.
